First of all I wish to express my thanks to all of you on the forums, as you are the people who convinced me that Axiom speakers were the way to go. I spent a couple of weeks going through the forums and after reading what all of you had to say about Axiom my decision was made.
On Nov 12th I placed my order for a pair of M22’s and QS8’s and aVP150 in high gloss cherry, one week later I decided to send back the SVS, PB-12 plus sub which I had ordered previously and replace it with an EP 500 from the factory outlet, once again my decision was based on what I read in the forums.
On Dec 17th my speakers arrived showing evidence of the shipping company’s (FED-EX) disregard for the careful handling of packages. Once the packages were open I found the speakers were in excellent condition. My first impression was that these are fine looking speakers, the high gloss cherry finish is sweet, and perhaps even more importantly my wife agrees with the exception of the sub.
I spent the next day getting the QS8’s wall mounted, running wire, making the speaker connections and calibrating speaker levels using Audyssey MultiEQ and tweaking the settings using a meter. I then spent the last weeks watching DVD’s and listening to CD’s with which I am familiar with to audition and enjoy the speakers, my impressions are as follows.
M22’s in a word reveling, I prefer to listen to music in stereo with sub and I heard subtleties in the music which I never knew were there. They create a great front soundstage for movies.
VP 150 the dialog during movies is clear and it blends seamlessly with the M22’s to create the front soundstage.
QS8’s best surround speaker I’ve listened to bar none.
EP 500 this is one awesome sub! This beast can threaten the structural integrity of a home, it has the ability to go low and loud as did the SVS but it is also tight, agile and musical.
I know I am only restating what has already been said more eloquently by others; but I do love my speakers.

Dave

very nice setup! those QS8's are very inconspicuous...Good job on the mounting spots!
Nice setup, very nice. How far back from the M22's are you? Do you still get a nice wide soundstage for music with them that close together?
Great! The EP-500 sure can do some dammage! Welcome to the club.

What doesn't she like about the sub?
Seating is 11 feet back from front, I would prefer more seperation, but room asthetics also dictate the speaker location
Its large, its rectangular - nuff said
But it can sure sure make the room shake.
Gee, who would have thought that it was the size of the speaker that was the issue?;\)
A cuckoo clock ??? One of my few remaining childhood hatreds. Although I did gain my first real love for tinkering with things by taking it apart to destroy the noise making device.

I'd have been tempted to mount the EP500 up there beside it and give it a good go of the U571 Depth Charge scene. Just like I did to our kitten when it decided the EP500 cover made a good scratching post.
Very nice, Dave! I like your set-up. I'm assuming you'll eventually take down the Christmas decorations? ;\)

Axiom should make High Gloss Cherry a standard finish. It's too good to be retired.
Dave,

Enjoy your new toys.
Very good, Dave; enjoy your new sounds. As to placement of your M22s, yes more separation would be nice, but as you say, sometimes room decor rules. At that relatively narrow separation relative to your listening distance little or no toe-in would be necessary, and it would be better to move them a bit forward to be at least flush with the front edge of the stand, to minimize diffraction.
Looks great! I like the use of the stand that you have the TV and M22s on. Oh yeah, that curio cabinet on the right doesn't stand a chance against the EP500. ;\)
Man, I love the HGC finish. I wish my 22's and QS8's were that instead of the boston cherry I have.

That's it. My next commision cheque is going towards a pair of M3's in HGC or Burled Walnut (still need some indecision in my mind).

Enjoy your speakers. Its a great looking, and I know great sounding setup.
I personally think the HGC would look better in your place.
