I might buy one of these for 250 bucks. I read a earlllllly review of it and it was mentioned that it could play PCM through HDMI. My Denon does not have HDMI and I only want it if it can play PCM through the optical hookup. I assume that it can, but I downloaded the manual and it does not say definitely. If anyone is using this player I would appreciate it if they could help me figure this out.

As far as I know you can not get the HD sound formats via pcm through optical, it requires HDMI. But if I'm also not mistaken the BDP-1000 does not decode the HD formats.

It can be confusing sorting this stuff out. Thank you for the reply.
