Ok am I missing something here. I know this sounds stupid but I ordered a Radiant HDMI switch with 4 in and 1 output. Here's where I feel like an idiot. I hooked it all up, forgetting that I run everything through my A/V receiver. My plasma runs through my receiver which means I can't just run an out from my receiver. Unless I'm missing something I have nowhere to run my HDMI output to. If I run my Plasma straight through to the HDMI switch I have no sound. I can't believe I didnt think of this when I ordered this thing. Am I missing something here?

Components into >>>> 4-into-1 switch >>>> into A/V receiver >>>> into Plasma ??? You'll have to 'tell' your receiver that there's only one input IF all audio and video are thru HDMI, then just change the switch as needed for various sources. ??

Need more info on receiver...

Thanks Scott. I have an Integra DTR 7.7, on the back of it there is one output and 2 inputs. I normally have my plasma run through my receivers "Out". I have 4 HDMI inputs with 5 total HDMI components. therefore the need for a switcher. Problem is if I plug in my Plasma into the "OUT" on the HDMI Switcher then I have picture but no sound coming thru speakersv because in essence the receiver has not been utilized. For the life of me I cant figure out what to do. How many of these things do they sell because it seems to me that anyone just using a TV and dvd players etc. would be fine but if you're using a receiver I dont see how you pull it off. I must be missing something in all this.

Unless I'm missing what you're saying, the output on the HDMI switcher should be going into one of the inputs on your receiver so it can handle the audio, and the output on your receiver should go to the display.

I agree with CV, that is how I read it as well. All components to HDMI switcher, then Output from switcher to input on receiver, then output from receiver to TV. Although I think this will make it more difficult to have different surround or any other specific settings you want to use for specific inputs on the receiver as only one input is getting used. Then again it is a digital signal so the receiver should be decoding accordingly.

Is there a chance the switcher only passes through video and not audio, seems unlikely to me, but you never know.

Thanks guys for all your help. I don't know if you've ever been in a situation before where you have looked at a situation for so long (when it comes to hookups, inputs, hdmi's, component cables, and lets not forget X-overs) that nothing seems to make sense even though the answer is right there in front of you. You were right. Monitor to Receiver Output, All HDMI's to switcher, and switcher output to receiver HDMI input. Whew!! Thanks again.

Hey, I'm glad you got it working. I'm sure we've all been there before.
