Well I caved in and finally bought a blu-ray player Firday night after work.First impression is that it is kinda homely looking, but i'll get over that.Connected to the Onky with an HDMI cable,on screen setup was nothing out of the ordinary.
Loading time is better then my HD-A30,if you include the Toshiba welcome mat on power up.I have only watched Pearl Harbor,The Patriot,We Were Soldiers,Master and Commander,Jumper,Happy Feet and Cars so far.I dont think there is much difference in picture quality,HD-DVD and BLU-RAY both look very good to my eyes. However the sound is much better on BLU-RAY,Had to turn down the surrounds.DTS HD 5.1 mstr and PCM 5.1 uncompressed with the Onky set to pure audio are amazing.Think i need some sleep now.

I bought my blu player over a month ago and I haven't had a chance to watch 7 movies. I bet you need some sleep.

The thing I was most surprised about was how much better that audio side of things was. I expected a big jump in PQ on my 100" projector screen compared to DVD, but I was totally not expecting the TrueHD tracks to rock like they did.

I'll be getting the LOTRs and the Matrix when they arrive. I bet the sound on U-571 will rock the house.
