Couldn't be more happier and could only wish that I have a proper HT room.

The system is in the living room now with a 50" Pioneer and powered by the Marantz SR6003.

The VP150 is a superb center and I can hear everything loud & clear compared to my previous PSB center. One of my friend came over for some listening immediately place an order for the VP150 to replace his Klipsch and he too grab a pair of M22 to replace his Klipsch front too.

The M60 can go real low, I need to listen to stereo mode using my old PSB but now I will just use pure direct that won't engage the sub. But in my heart, I feel like I still need a better sub-woofer to match the M60 to get to the real low effect when watching movies. The CHT-12R just could not do justified and not match the sound of the M60.

Surprisingly the Orb Audio's Mod1 did a very good job as surround speakers, effects are loud and clear and integrated very well with the Axiom but I would like to try the QS8 sometime in future.

My room size is 20' x 16 x 11' with opening to dining area of 11' x 9' x 13', so a bigger sub-woofer is real important to me. Due to WAF, I am looking for a compact sub such as Hsu ULS-15 or SVS SB13 or SB16 which will have the grunt to fill the room. Any other recommendation?

Many of the Malaysian here missed out the opportunity to try out the Axiom due to no local availability and worried on warranty issue....Canada is 9000miles away :p

If Axiom can appoint a distributor here in Asia, I believe with the price vs performance the Axiom give, it will shine in this budget conscious part of the world.

Bravo, I think I do not need to change my speakers for the next 5-10 years \:D

Excellent! Nothing like being very satisfied after a big expense (or an "investment in your entertainment" like it should be put!).

Great to hear Michael. I'm sure we would love to see some pictures of your new setup and throw in some Malaysian backgrounds while your at it to make me jealous. I awoke to a layer of frost on my lawn last night.

Glad you are enjoying your speakers, Michael.

re. Axiom having a distributor in Malaysia(or anywhere else in fact), they are a company who have chosen to do their business directly with the consumer. They are able to keep their prices down because of this business model(no middlemen)...

HEY!! here's an opportunity for someone like yourself, to audition Axiom's in your part of the world and obtain some "Axiom credit" on some QS8's!

I don't think anyone should be too concerned about 'distance' when it comes to Axiom's warranty, they are notoriously customer oriented whether they live just across the street or 'round the other side of the world.

Those are good subs you mentioned. Some others are Axiom of course, Outlaw, Elemental, Paradigm (DSP), ect...ect....

Micheal, Good to hear that you are enjoying your speakers.

Congratulations Michael. That sounds like a very nice system.

You know, given that Axiom already manufactures drivers in China, I wonder if they have thought about expanding their manufacturing there to supply that part of the world.

I think it is quite possible they have thought about this. Do you remember the day they were testing the Chinese language on the forum.

As Fredk touched upon, have your friend that ordered the Axioms tell them he demoed them at your place and you will get Axiom bucks if he keeps the speakers past the 30 days...

hey Michael!
We have a pretty similar setup...I can recommend the PB10NSD from SVS, I have had a lot of luck with it. We put a cloth and a lamp on it to raise the WAF..

info on the PB10-NSD:

congrats!

"Bravo, I think I do not need to change my speakers for the next 5-10 years"

5 - 10 years? I lovemine so much I can't imagine letting them go sooner than 50 (or easily more). I am glad to hear you are happy with them however.
Posted By: mpyw Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 09/22/09 03:36 AM
Hi Mike,
I think the PB10 will be a bit underpower for my room.
I'll be looking at the Hsu ULS 15 or the SVS PB12+ or PB13Ultra as there will be a 10% off promotion from the dealer here next month...

Both ULS15 & PB13Ultra will be at the same price, which one would you all choose? Will be 60% movie & 40% music.
Posted By: jakewash Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 09/22/09 06:16 PM
Since I own the PB 13 Ultra I would recommend it. I have heard the ULS 15, but I am sure you would be very happy with either one. The Hsu I have heard was very good for movies, but did not do as well for music, too punchy IMO but it was the lower model STF 3.
Posted By: tomtuttle Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 09/22/09 07:23 PM
I haven't heard the ULS15, but enthusiastically agree with other favorable reviews of the PB13 Ultra.

Mojo inspired me to get mine (Ultra). One heck of a sub!
Posted By: mpyw Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 09/26/09 03:13 AM
I've place my order for the SVS PB12+
the PB-13Ultra is too huge (size wise) for WAF...
Posted By: Spoiler Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 09/26/09 10:27 AM

Well congrats! Let us know how you like it. You're right, the Ultra is quite the big boy. Mine sort of acts as an end table/lamp stand in the corner of the "L" shape between two couches, so it works out nicely.

I notice though that the PB12 plus is only about an inch smaller in all dimensions! Are we talking about the same sub?

Shhh! He's convinced her its smaller and therefore tenable!

"Why, yes, Spoiler, the PB12+ is much smaller."

Hehe...now I'll just wait for Noreen to credit the Axiom dollar to my account :p

Firoz, welcome and great to hear about how you're enjoying the sounds with your Axioms. As to an amplifier "issue" if you order M80s, there's no good reason to assume at this point that there would be one. Your 1800 has substantial enough power capacity to meet the needs of M80 users in most home setups. Whether that includes your needs can only be determined by trying.

thanks johnk,

just received my m80 a couple of days ago.. was advised by alan lofft to source for a power amp, just in case.. lucky to come across an old used harman kardon pa2400.. sounds wonderful to me, a newbie.. hope michael will come audition my setup next..

have a new problem to solve now.. ordered the 12gauge speaker cable terminated with 1/4 spades.. unfortunately my yamaha avr dont accept spades.. now wondering if axiom's banana plugs can accept 1/4 spades apart from bare wires.. a bit confused about the single spring and dual spring.. can anyone explain that please?

thanks..
Posted By: jakewash Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 10/16/09 06:11 AM
Axioms banana plugs will accept their spade connectors and the dual spring is simply 2 banana plugs held together by a plastic spacer that fits the width of the speaker binding posts, allowing for easy plugging and unplugging of the speaker wire. You might want to order the single spring as you are plugging thenm into the back of a receiver which may or may not have the same spacing as the speaker binding posts.

My friends....The SVS dealer for Malaysia...brought over 2 units of Rotel 1080 power amp (200W/channel) for me to test if that would improve the sound quality of the M60 & VP150.

We hook up the amp through Marantz SR6003 pre-out to the L/R in 1 Rotel and the center using the other Rotel.

Frankly, for the M60 playing using pure audio (L/R only) through my Cambridge Audio 640Cv2 CD player, connected using analog stereo cable, I only felt a very slight improvement on the low frequency of the M60 and less bright on the high on 80% to my reference SPL level (that's 75db)

However, on the VP150, playing some concert BD, the sound did improve on the vocal, more dynamic and smooth than using the SR6003 to drive it. Maybe it's because of the 6ohm rating that it need more power to bring out the juice?

But most important improvement I felt is the improvement of my surround sound (What? We intent to test the main speakers only what?), Yes! the surround become more complete, dynamic and fuller with the SR6003 needed only drive 2 speakers for the 5.1 dts-ma/trueHD mix. The sound are cleaner and fuller and it really bring out the sound of my Orb Audio's Mod1 by driving them with 130W of power....

So, the $1000 question, should I get an Emotiva XPA-3 or XPA 5 to drive the front now?

Arrggggh, more money to spend and can foresee a unhappy spouse's face \:\( :p
Posted By: Micah Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 11/23/09 04:18 AM
Is the Emotiva $1000 bucks there (shipping included I mean)? I paid only $600 for mine, which I believe shipped for free... but that was in continent of course. Anyway, if you liked the Rotel why not buy it? Is it super expensive?

I don't think you will be disappointed by the Emotiva. I haven't been. There are several with M80's who weren't happy with it, but none with M60's that I can remember. Also, they have a very good return policy, as close to Axioms as it gets. That should help you sleep better once you plunk down the cabbage for one.
Posted By: mpyw Re: After 3 months of Axiom ownership.... - 11/23/09 05:00 AM
the $1000 will be incl shipping & tax to Malaysia with some change.
the 2 ch Rotel is almost $1000 per unit here, I can get 5 ch from the Emotiva and uses less space and less power point :p

I see, I see. Well good luck, you are sure to enjoy countless hours of wonderful sounding music out of your system!

Received my XPA3 yesterday, hook it up and everything are ready to go now.

Don't have time to re-run the audyssey as after I finished regrouping the cables, wires & rearrange the HT cabinet, it's 11pm already...did some low volume testing using foursenses blu-ray (with DTS-HR 7.1 surround sound music), the surround are awesome, it does help taking away the burden from my SR6003.

Then, I put on Amos Lee's CD, the M60 produce better mid & low and the clarity are better too....and the XPA3 are just out of the box and switched on like less than 30 mins.....
