Hey, my dad is interested in getting a player with Netflix streaming for his bedroom. His TV in there is only standard definition at the moment, and he has no immediate plans of upgrading it to HD. Still, he was thinking of getting a Blu-ray player with the feature just because. He already uses a PS3 as the Blu-ray player for his main system. He tried out the Netflix streaming on the PS3 and wasn't so impressed, saying that everything was slower than watching the streaming on a computer. As far as Blu-ray players, what models should he be looking at? I haven't kept up on any of the models that sport Netflix streaming. Also, if there is a better option that's as or more cost-effective, I'd like to hear that, too. Still, I think he'd rather have a unit that plays discs simply so he doesn't have to have more than one player hooked up in the bedroom. Thanks for any help you can give me!

I know the LG 390 Blu Ray player is getting rave reviews and includes Vudu and Netflix streaming, apparently it's pretty neat. The LG BD 370 is also a good one I hear and generally a good bit cheaper.

Yeah, the ps3 is really slow for browsing through movies to stream. The xbox360 interface is much better, but unfortunately doesn't act as a bluray player as well \:\(

Samsung BDP-3600 works well for me. Also includes Youtube, Pandora, and Blockbuster.

It's funny that you asked as I just happened to be on the Netflix website trying to figure out what to do about sending back DVDs without any of Netflix's prepaid envelopes (I accidently threw away my last one). According to their website, LG blu-ray players, Samsung blu-ray players and LG TVs as well as PS3 players, XBox 360 players and Tivo HD DVR boxes.

I just use the Roku box. It works well for me.

I have the same player as BigHonu. Samsung seems to have worked everything out, and we use it A LOT to stream Netflix content. Very satisfied.

Thanks, guys. I'll look at all of those models. Such a hard life, looking at models.
