How do you guys keep your speakers?
I leave the grills on the speakers, but sometimes when they're not looking I take a peak at the tweeters.
I let my speakers run around naked.
Don't they cover themselves when you are staring at them?
I take a peak at the tweeters.
Peak? Freudian slip?
Grills on. Keeps the cats from wrecking the cones and from hiding toys in the sub port.
Keep grills on .
Although i love my new V3's im not crazy about the white drivers.
Would have preferred black.
Would have preferred black.
You only had to ask, they still have a load of old cone and i think but not sure that they will keep it avalaible on request.
Grills on. My cat finds the drivers tempting.
I think he may have meant all black, not just the dust cap. I would prefer that too, all aluminum, but anodized black.
Grilles on 99.5% of the time, other 0.5% is for auditions.
Nah, I like the black/white look.
I really want a set of speakers in high gloss piano black with white grills
To help justify an upgrade to V3's I'll plan on upgrading to piano gloss black with the white grills too. Of course this will be after I can convince my wife that I need to spend several thousand dollars on speakers again, only this time the price will be double
wow another one of these threads,
, most of the time my grill covers are on, acoustically makes no difference to what you can hear.
Oh, if you like the eyeballs, then as Philippe said, just request it at the time if placing the order (easier over the phone). They have spares of the older style drivers, and can make more at any time should they run out.
I wanna know that more about aesthetically speaking than about sound quality. I wanna leave mine off but I was wondering about getting too much dust on them.
The cycling of the drivers makes them essentially self-cleaning in normal environments.
Thanks for the clarification! I guess I will leave them off then.
.
as long as you don't have any kids around them, or cats, the drivers should be safe.
I like mines off but soon I will have to put them on as my 8 months old daughter is already eyeballing the cones (yes, I know, she's already into Axiom, just like daddy :)) and will soon start walking.
Your dust caps are toast whether you leave the grills on or take them off. Trust me.
Grills on. Keeps the cats from wrecking the cones and from hiding toys in the sub port.
+1
I leave mine off unless I know we are having vistors with kids. My own kids know to keep their hands off.
Or skunks.
Just read an article about a couple that keep 40 in their home.
To our resident doctor.
Is there a medical term for the state of mind that feels the need for 40 of any type of animal in their home? They also have multiple cats, a few dogs, and I forget what else.
I like the crazy cat lady on the Simpsons. My wife and I are joking that her mother is turning into one. All the strays flock to her door because she feeds them. Them they multiply. Sigh.
Definitely an obsessive behavior, but it's not the usual kind of thing that gets diagnosed as OCD. I also find that people with a preponderence of pets often, but not always, have personality issues, like avoidant personality disorder or narcissistic personality disorder. The avoidant person is uncomfortable around people, so pets are easier to deal with. The narcissist will prefer the company of pets to people because the pets give the unconditional love and acceptance that the narcissist secretly craves.
