Hello,
Just working out various configurations in my head. I have read that using an M22 or an M2 would be more ideal than a VP150 for hirizontal dispersion purposes. I was at first thinking about three M22s for the front stage. Now, i am wondering if the M22 as a center would be able to keep up with the M80s. Money is a factor and a VP 180 does not fit the budget.

I think there are some that have used M22's in combination with M80's with good results. My experience is only with the VP150 and now VP180...
I'm using the M22 as a center along with M80 mains, and it works for me. Superior to the VP150 it replaced.
Doesn't Mike (micheal_d) use two M22's as centers with a pair of M80s in his HT room?
I have always liked/prefered my M22 as a center with my M80s vs. the VP100/150 I have/had, but the M22 is too tall to fit under the TV, at least until I get the OK to raise the TV up a bit more.
An M22 or even an M2 will “keep up” better with the M80s than a VP150. It is also more easily re-tasked later should you decide to get a VP180 you could buy another single M22 or M2 and use them as Wide or Surround Back speakers or even in another room. Also they are both less expensive than a VP150.
You are all making me sad to be a VP150 owner.
I use dual M2s and they work very will with my M80s. From what I understand, the M180 is a real step up over any other config, but other than that, I like the idea of the M2 or M22 for center duties if you can fit it into your setup.
But Ken, the 100 doesn't have comb filtering.
The idea of an M22 for a center sounds great with the M80s. I was thinking of wall mounting the M22 above my TV screen if I went with that setup. It does not seem like the ideal height for speakers to be located, but will that work?
If the M2s work with the 80s, I would be interested in that very much. I would just wall mount my TV and place the M2 on my TV stand. The M2 would definitely be dwarfed by the M80s in appearance, but I am more concerned about audio quality than I am with looks.
It will work, but the best situation is to have the tweeters of the left/center/right as close as possible to ear level when seated. Some have been able to angle the center up or down towards your ears which helps.
I have two M22's under my screen and a VP150 above. M80 mains. Love it.
