VP150 price dropped to $200. Someone can get a really good deal on an excellent center speaker!

Best of luck man. I never even tried to put my Boston Cherry VP150 up on the auction when I got my VP180... Wasn't sure how much I would get out of it, but $200 IS a great price...
I think I paid about $180 to $200 (which included shipping) for a new VP150 v2 in Warm Cherrywood, about a year ago on the auction site. The price was down because it was v2 and an uncommon finish and an in-on wall speaker. But it was exactly what I was looking for.
Yeah, last attempt then I'll just keep it to build another system with in the bedroom or something
I'm actually watching this with interest. The new VP160 is calling me, but what to do with the the 'old' 150? If there's no market for the old... One thought I've been kicking around is to see if Axiom can fab up some M2v2 cabinets in a paintable finish and if they still have M2v2 x-overs. I would like to paint a set of M2's LSU's colors, drop in the mids and tweets from the VP150, add the x-overs and give the completed speakers to my college boy. Then I could get the 160.
Just a thought.
Wanna buy mine so you can make two?
Maybe axiom will trade me a vp180 stand for it? I'd throw in some cash too.
If the drivers are the correct match, one VP150 will make 2 M2's with a mid driver left over.
Good point
. Final price dropped to $175.
Maybe we should just pool our VP150's together and make something awesome!
Nick, if you don't mind my asking.. Why did you not upgrade when the 180 first came out and Axiom was still doing their trade up program so that you could have traded in the 150? I think that a LOT of us on the forum took advantage of that program when the 180 came out.
When was the VP180 announced? I believe it was well before we sold our previous house (no room for the VP180 in my old theater) plus I was afraid that people would want our old theater "as is" including speakers (which they did). I didn't want to jump to the 180 just to possibly lose it. Plus, starting in October 2010, my whole family was pretty much living in the town we live in now, and we went "home" only every couple of weekends tops.
1) It was too big for the old theater.
2) There was the risk of losing it to the home buyers.
3) I wasn't home enough to enjoy it.
4) There was a lot of uncertainty over how we were going to pay our house payment, plus a fairly pricey apartment payment at the same time.
So instead, I end up with a VP180 now, an extra set of QS8s (5.1 to 7.1) which are all fine, and then a VP150 that I don't know what to do with...
hrm, now that you ask when it was announced, i think it was about a year ago? Maybe 2? no more than 2 i know that much.
I can understand not wanting to buy it just to "give" it to someone else.. as well as your other reasons, i was just wondering.
The 180 came out pretty much 2 years ago, I had just moved into my new house. I can't wait for the 160 to finally be available.
LSU's colors eh? There was that pair in Raven's colors . . .
Just sayin' . . .
If I could get Tedi Bruschi / Patriots graphics done, Joyce would let me buy any damn thing I wanted.
Twice.

Yeah! That's it. Geaux Amie !! (That's Cajun-French for Gaux)
Uh, Mark, I gotta guy for that . . .
. . .
Looks like the Vikings to me, even though they suck this year, I would take a pair.
My VP150 sold in the auction for $185. I guess there was a glitch in the system though because the payment was processed as $0 from the buyer. JC said I need to contact axiom Monday when their webmaster is available.
I guess I'll find out where to ship it once axiom gets the funds from the buyer.
Now to find a box and some packing materials...
hi, just wanted to say that I was the culprit for buying the V150....having to replace my home theatre that got damaged on the move out to Calgary, a piece at time. Two speakers were damaged in the move!
That sucks about the damage, but congratulations on the move. Fresh setups require pics.
And as a sidebar...the third speaker, a hefty surround, I put up temporarily on top of a dividing wall in the new condo while it was being wired up ....and it um, fell....totalled...so, five speakers went out...three speakers no more.
but I promise to look after the VP150...
Sucks about the damage drake but glad to sell my vp150. I assume axiom will be in touch with us Monday to straighten out the auction web glitch. As soon as they give me further instructions ill be ready to ship it out. I'm going to use the axiom dollars towards the vp180 speaker stand.
I used the proceeds of the auction towards the vp180 stand. I ordered a custom height (1 inch less than standard height) so it would fit beneath my plasma. The stand has a nice clean look to it that I really like, and it will also bring my vp180 up higher so I should get some improvements in sound.
I wonder how long it takes axiom to make a custom height stand?
Regarding the vp150 sale: I ended up paying FEDEX to package the speakers as it came with a "pack and ship" guarantee. I didn't have the proper size box or packing materials anyway...
Good deal. That gives me a little hope. I've been trying to sell my in/on-wall black VP100 v2 for $90 on Craigs List for weeks. Still no luck. I've sold everything else that I've recently put there.
I'm using Craigs List, because I didn't want to hassle with shipping costs.
How much did FedEx charge to box it up?
I think they charged about $20. I brought several boxes home from my office but they all ended up being to small or extremely large. The buyer paid all other shipping costs. The buyer was in canada, So My speaker was shipped back to its origin after being put to good use in Oklahoma. Since it had a fairly long journey I wanted to make sure it was packed well.

I hope you included a sandwich.
If anyone has a nice VP150 will you be auctioning somewhere..I maybe interested.
I have one in Boston Cherry... My problem is that I already bought a VP180 and two more QS8s so I don't need the Axiom bucks...
I've been debating if I want to change out my VP150 for something else... once I get my new HT room built. I just can't justify spending as much as the VP180 costs thou. Especially since I'm hoping to have enough money to buy a pair of M80's.
Ordered the VP180 stand on 12/28 and still no word on it being shipped.
I assume it is taking longer because I ordered a custom height?
Anyone here know how long it usually takes axiom to send out a custom stand?
Good deal! Was it shorter or taller?
1 inch shorter to fit under my wall mounted plasma. I could have ordered the standard height and just left off the rubber feet...
