Has anyone tried using M3's or M2's as wall-mounted rear surrounds? I prefer monopoles since my side walls are way recessed, leaving only the back wall to mount the surrounds. But I'm concerned that the M3/M2's rear-ported design might sound muddy if wall-mounted. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I am also interested in this question, because given my room layout the only real option I have for surrounds are wall-mounted monopoles in the back corners. I saw another thread on this topic where the concern seemed to be that you need several inches behind the speaker since it's rear-ported. I think with the right mounting hadware several inches clearance shouldn't be a problem.

My question is, what mounting options do the M2 M3 speakers support? My current surrounds have threaded screw holes on the bottom and the back, what do the M3's have? Would I have to drill holes, or is that something you can do? I would prefer not to, since I'm guessing the speakers are non-returnable at that point.

I have looked at the links to Pinpoint and Omnimount and they both look good for the job. Only a minimal distance from the wall is required (about 2" is loads). We are also in the process of developing a wall bracket for these products but it will not be available until the spring. Both the M3s and the M22s can have screws installed in the cabinet without risk of damaging the speaker. I would suggest a screw that has about 1" of thread in the cabinet and definitely predrilling the holes.

Thanks Ian. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't going to be any problem with wall-mounting these. I think I prefer the idea of using the pointpoint mounting system so no drilling is necessary.

I just became interested in using wall mounts for my M3Ti surrounds.

It looks to me like the B-Tech BT3 would work well since the front/rear are parallel to each other. Something like the BT7 or BT77 might not work since they use side clamps and the ASW design of the cabinet may preclude optimum clamping force unless the clamps can swivel to match the angle of the side.

Any early info on the Axiom wall mount brackets?

I agree that rear, top, or bottom would probably be the desired place on the M3s to mount the wall bracket. As for a heads up on our bracket that is just now finished the design stage; it will mount to the rear of the M3s (and all our other bookshelf and quadpole speakers) and have the flexibility to mount to the wall or ceiling. The bracket also will allow for you to set the speaker in a multitude of various axii (etymologist spelling). Also the bracket will be able to be used as a short stand for placing the quadpoles on a shelf.

That's a good point about the side-clamp brackets not being ideal due to the shape of the axioms.

Ian, any time frame on your brackets? I know you probably won't be able to give a firm date, but maybe a general 'ball-park' estimate. It will probably be another month or so before I'm ready to order my speakers anyway.

We are targeting for this spring (spring in Canada that is).

I have read the messages concerning the M3's and M2's. But, I am curious about wall mounts for the M1ti. Will the brackets that you have mentioned earlier in this message board work universally with these speakers as well. If not, do you recommend any particular type. Appreciate the help.

The upcoming wall brackets (there is a small one and a large one) will be designed to wallmount all of our bookshelf, quadpole, and vocal point models. They will be able to mount from the ceiling or the wall and there is also a desk stand for the quadpole models.

Can you give any hint as to a release date? I'll be ordering my speakers in a few weeks....

My best guess right now is June 15. The exact date will be ready for formal announcement by the end of March.
