Here's a link to a review of the European Panasonic VT50 plasma TV.

I probably need to read this several times, but from the sound of it, the ST50 probably has just as good as, and brighter a picture than, the VT50. The brightness is capped on this model, and is the same as the 2011 VT30 model. Although in THX mode, the brightness is much higher and the calibration is close to professional. The motion sounds a bit smoother on the VT50, which would encourage me to choose that one over the ST50. So far, I see no reason to purchase the GT50 model, because the VT should be had for just a little over the GT50 price.

Decisions, decisions.
By the time you decide, the next generation will be out with more features etc making the decision even harder wink
+1
True dat, but I don't want to wait that long with a TV missing from the wall.
Get the VT50 and don't look back.

I am extremely happy with my VT30, worth the extra cash in my mind.

However, waited until 9+months after it was out to save a ton of cash over he initial list price.

Around the time I bought my 65 VT30, Places were selling the it for $2600-$2800 when it listed orginally for $3999.

Of course then you have to fight the urge to "wait a little longer" and get the next years model (at the higher price).
So far, it looks like brick'n mortar will be selling it for $3699. I either won't have the money until around end of July, or end up borrowing it.

Have they changed their pricing structure? If memory serves me (and it may not) for last year's GT vs VT I remember for any given size the VT was $500 to $800 more expensive. In Canadian B&Ms, at least.
