This is a really stupid question, but I hope y'all will help me anyway.

We have a really really really old Zenith TV in our bedroom that I'd like to connect a DVD player to. Problem is, the only input it has is the screw-on thing for the cable (RG-6?). No composite, no S video, etc.

Is there a switch box or converter or something that I can buy to pipe composite or S-Video into this thing? I'd rather keep using it, because then I can spend more money on speakers and other upgrades to the main system.

Thanks for your help.

before upgrading, i had similar situation. mine was with a cable box too since the tv was 15+ years old. if i can remember correctly..cable input to vcr, cable out on vcr to dvd, then coax to tv. luckily the tv was a stereo tv and had a multitude of rca connectors on the back. before axiom, shut off tv speakers and ran audio to tape input on receiver and piped tv sound through two cahnnel receiver. that lasted 'til the wife wanted all the stereo wires off the floors. the rest is history.

In the kids' room I have one of the DVD players hooked up through the VCR. As far as I know most DVD players don't have a coax connection (only one I've seen is through the shopping channel - a cheap one). You just simply do a normal hook up of your VCR to your TV. Providing you have a VCR that has rear of front RCA connections (Video - Left - Right), you connect your DVD to that and set the VCR to the proper input channel (on my JVC it's channel 0). Et voila, DVD through the VCR to the old TV.
