Why not? They spend years on R&D...maybe I'm just a hair early...

No photoshop, built them with axiom drivers i bought from them.Built crossovers , using design software and a rig i built to get the TS paramaters of the drivers.

How do the sound?

Did you change the porting?

I was thinking the extra width of the new cabinet would add to an already nice design.

Axiom is an R&D company. If that configuration sounded better than the existing ones, they would be producing it already.

Some may argue that a 3 way speaker is best suited to cover the full audio range. Myself i like a nice 3 way grin The M80 is essenstially 2 , 3 ways in one box. I built these because i had extra drivers,it was more of an experiment than anything. It does seem interesting that people have asked for this array , yet nothing ever came from it. I would love to know Axiom's position on why this is not a good arrangement. Perhaps too many others are already doing it.
I never got around to doing a frequency sweep, i need another laptop but got sidetracked by my sudden interest in vinyl. I have a pair of M2's that i swapped in place of my homebrew's and not surprisingly they have a very similar sonic signature. Now that i have a Music Hall MMF 7.1 and Pro-Ject tube phono stage i will be revisting the comparison. At present i have not ported them,i like the way a sealed box sounds.

I am slowly crawling into the Axiom universe. It took me a while to find a product so highly spoken of for a fair value.
