I was originally going to get M60's as mains but, my budget won't allow me to for good while. Right now my budget is about 300$. I was thinking about getting the m2 or m3 to use as mains until I can get the M60's. Which one's should I get for now? (I have a polk psw202 sub)

M2's.

They sound better with a sub than the M3's. Then you could move them eventually into a 7.1 setup as the back surrounds when you eventually get M60's.

I agree go with the M2's. I use them with an HSU VTF2 sub and they match perfectly with it.
Best bookshelves you can buy when matching them with a sub.

now I'm disappointed -- I just got my m3's last night and thought they sounded great with my sub. I asked the Axiom rep M2 vs. M3 which will go better with the vp100 and he said to go with the M3. you all seem sure the M2's are better, should I consider switching them for my m3's? any idea why the rep would recommend the M3's?

btw -- I only had about an hour test time last night, but so far the Axioms are stunning!

I heard the M3s about a year ago and was amazed at the sound they put out. I haven't heard the M2s so I really can't compare. Fact is the M2s, M22s, M60s and VP150 seem to be the "in" speakers with most of the posters. Having said that I certainly don't feel that means that the other speakers are not up to scratch.

It's your ears that should make the decision. I see nothing wrong at all with your choice.

They do sound great, and I agree that there can't be much wrong with my choice. But, the M2's are a little smaller, a little cheaper, and if they'll sound a little better....

Willy,
I wouldn't worry about it. I had the same dilemma when I was making my purchase. I Didn't know whether to get the M2's or M3's. I went with the M2's for the simple fact that I knew My HSU VTF2 sub would do an excellent job filling in the lower end. I didn't see the need for the lower frequencies of the M3's. You really can't go wrong with either speaker.
