I want to use my pair of Axiom M3ti to replace the main speakers of my Logitech Z560. I will keep the logitech sub. My only concern is if the logitech Amp can handle the Axiom. Any known concern with using M3ti as PC speakers?

get the exact specs of the amp in that sub. my decision would be not to use it, i doubt it has the power. if you decide to try, try it at your own risk.

I wouldn't suggest it... it's "rated" at 53watts --RWS?-- per channel... first off, it should be RMS, unless RWS is some new term they coined because people figured out what PMPO means. Secondly, I wouldn't believe for a second that that wee little amp head is pushing a total of 400watts.

Grab a little stereo standalone amp - I'm sure someone here can recommend one.

You might try this. I was fed up with the sound of my PC speakers, as I listen to Live365 pretty much all the time. So I took one of my old receivers and hooked up the audio jack on the back of my Dell to the aux of the receiver. Using the Cambridge Soundworks sub/sat system that was replaced by my Axioms, I now have a FAR superior sound system that cost me nothing. Streaming audio sounds at least as good as FM if not CD, and mp3's sound even better. Worth a try.

it would probably power up the m3s, but im not sure how good, loud, or safe it would be. get a cheap receiver and start your way to real sound. like me... =).

I ran my M2i's off of my Klipsch 2.1 v2 amp for a while. The setup seemed to work fine, and sounded a heck of a lot better than the stock satelites (and the Polk RTi28s I've got on there now). I presume the Logitech's amp should work as well.

I'd be very concerned about clipping. Whenever I read reviews of PC speakers, the reviewer talks about them "not clipping very much." Yeek! Just get an inexpensive 2 channel reciever or integrated amp (you can find them all over eBay; you could even pick up an old Marantz pretty cheap!)

The Logitech Z-680 and its 4.1 brother both use very cheap 3" tangband full range drivers. The cheapest at partsexpress.com is a big improvement over the ones they use, and they're only $15 a driver...

Anyway, my point is that these things would literally blow up if you fed over 35 watts into them. I don't think it feeds over 15-20 watts RMS into those speakers. I've read of many Axiom owners driving their M3tis with tube amps with amp power around there(albeit a _lot_ higher quality an amp), so I think it should be fine so long as you don't blast it.

Yet using speakers of that quality with that horrible amp is just not good. I'd recommend getting a cheapo amp off of ebay or something to use with them if you have the budget.

It'll almost certainly drive the speaker fine, but have two problems:

1. Low headroom before clipping (and that's bad- you can damage speakers that way). It'll still play pretty loud though.
2. Fixed crossover. I'm not sure how good the attached sub is, but you're probably stuck with using it as I don't think it'd send a full-range signal to the M3s.

It'll certainly sound decent. Up to you.
