Looking to pair up a separate amplifier with Harmon AVR235 receiver. I have just started researching Rotel, Adcom, B&K, Arcam and Outlaw.

Looking for recommendations on which amplifier would be a good match for both music and HT and also places online that sell them.

There are a handful of Rotel 1075s on Audiogon for about $800, if you'd like to go that route. I know there are several members here using them who have been quite pleased.
a few of us have the marantz mm9000 its a wonderful amp, and you can get it for about 600$.. i got mine 600$ brand new. its 5X200watts or so.
For pure amplification, my order of preference would be B&K, Adcom, Arcam, Rotel and then Outlaw as I have heard nothing from Outlaw that excites me.
However there are many people on this board who enjoy them.

Just my thoughts ...YMMV
I mostly agree with this order except that I would move Adcom to the very end since I have never liked their amps. B&K and Rotel are excellent choices, Arcam is a good one too, and Outlaw's price to performance just can't be beat just like Axiom's speakers. Adding any of those amps will be an improvement over the 235's internal amps that's for sure.
I agree with you. I don't like Adcom as they are made poorly, IMO. I personally like the Outlaw because they sound GREAT and are inexpensive. Outlaw like Axiom is an internet only based company.

I've been pretty happy with my Rotel RB1080 pushing the M80s..............no complaints
