Methost, this site is not used for buying and selling personal equipment.
Posted By: SirQuack Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/04/05 05:35 AM
you can purchase from Axiom.
Posted By: Methost Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/04/05 11:42 AM
I know what Axiom sells. And I have purchased from axiom. No need to be a smart ass about it. I didn't know there would be a problem with posting a WTB thread so lighten up. Better yet, grow up.

Come on man, it's Friday, it's early and nobody was trying to a smart ass....no need to get upset. Nobody meant nothing by the way they posted.

Don't coddle him Rick.

Obviously you have not been around here very long, or you would know my context was not intended to be as you stated "a smart ass". Pretty sad how someone would get so offended by such a small comment. Based on your tact, you should take your own advice.
Posted By: player8 Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/04/05 06:45 PM
I am ashamed at the past few replies. It's obvious the guy is new and he didn't understand forum policy. The right thing to do was to politely correct him about how its against forum policy to solicit Axiom buying/selling. I would react the exact same way (on the boards or in real life) if I got a sarcastic remark in unfamiliar settings.

I apologize for the rudeness.

Sorry I don't agree. Re-read the first 3 messages in this thread. There was nothing rude or provoking said/typed.
To come into a new neighborhood with tongue flailing is flat out wrong. Sorry, I have have had a few and my tongue is flailing me.Hey! I'm going to a concert tonight, give me a break.

thank you Oz Obviously I agree with you also...

Hey, what is the meaning of this ? Are you making faces at me man

I never understand why people get all bent out of shape for nothing, they must really hate themselves. Oh well, onto some other threads.

Who are you seeing?

We're off to see John Hiatt, Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark and Joe Ely tonight...wife called a few minutes ago and asked if I was interested. Like she *had* to ask.

Regarding the above post. I agree, I thought we were pretty nice to the guy up there. If it would have been Friday night, armed with a couple of Bud Lights (cheapola, I know) I don't think I would have been so nice the second time around.....has BrotherBob ever been like that? Hmmm.

I can see how it could have been taken as a smarta__ reply.
BUT, I see no reason what so ever for his return reply.
He broke 2 official and 1 unofficial rule in only 2 posts.
It should be mandatory for newbs to READ the rules BEFORE posting.
From his short temper and writing style, I think I've run into him on AVS.

Yeah, you are going to catch a heck of a show tonight. Lucky #@!$. I get to see Dwight on Sunday, though. And Rick, if you've never caught those four guys together, you're in for a treat.
Posted By: player8 Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/04/05 08:44 PM
So I'm guessing you hate yourself. Got it.

While I found the posting of the Axiom # funny myself, I took it from the angle of a person who understood the humor in it. Obviously the other fellow did not. His remark was obviously over the top, but the professionalism usually portrayed on this site should have prevailed. Not the childish name calling.

Alright! That's what I want to hear.

Never have seen these guys together, looking forward to it!

LMAO! I was wondering just who in the heck you are going to see, thought maybe I missed something.

I'm not too familiar with his music other than seeing him a time or two in videos....I'll have to check him out. Have fun!
Posted By: oz350z Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/04/05 10:08 PM

You too, Rick. It's not often enough me and the wife get to go out. Have fun? There is no doubt about it, I have seen him so many times, having fun is a given. There is no doubt here! Enjoy your show and please give some feeback if you will. I love that this thread turned into something so positive.

Rick
I have followed who you like to listen to in the "who are you listening to tonight?" thread I would be totally floored if you told me you did not like this guy. Check out his DVD Live From Austin, Texas. You won't be disappointed.
Trust me, I know what I'm doing. Sorry John... I have demons to contend with.
Posted By: RickF Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/04/05 10:45 PM
Hey Oz actually I do believe the video I saw was from the Live From Austin, Texas DVD....I thought it was great. I'll certainly check him out! Where are you seeing him, Atlanta?
Posted By: pmbuko Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/05/05 06:10 AM
BrotherBob,

I've seen that exact same line-up twice now. It's an amazing treat. Joe Ely is my least favorite, but he's still good.
Posted By: RickF Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/06/05 06:36 AM
Oz, Peter ... the wife and I absolutely enjoyed the show. John Hiatt ('Memphis In The Meantime', 'Drive South', 'Lipstick Sunset') was our favorite while Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely and Guy Clark all performed flawlessly. Whenever Guy Clark forgot to plug in his guitar and introduce Joe Ely after his first song, we could tell right away that this was going to be an amazing, fun evening ... and it was!
We'll certainly go again if the opportunity arises.
Posted By: oz350z Re: WTB - VP150 - 11/06/05 12:45 PM
Likewise, Bernadette and I had a great time at the Richard Thompson show. An Austin girl, Eliza Gilkyson opened for him. This was a very nice surprize. I didn't know there would be an opening act. I liked her very much. I know she has been on the scene for many years but this is the first time I have seen her. Richard apppeared with only his long time friend and associate Daniel Thompson (no relation) who plays upright bass. It was an accoustic evening of the highest order. If I'm not mistaken he only did four songs from his new release. He dug very deep into his catalogue going all the way back to Fairport Convention, his work with his then wife Linda, and his earliest solo career. This is pretty much his M/O for shows. But his catalogue is so deep and so outstanding that he always manages to pull out a few surprizes and never fails to impress. The synchonicity between he and Daniel is simply amazing to experience.
What a great night!
oz
