i posted a few days ago and got some feedback about speakers. now, can people suggest a goog home theater receiver.
i am considering a 5.1 system and possibily going with these:
m50ti or m60ti
qs4
vp150
a svs subwoof or another brand

--what do you guys think abou my selection??
--what do you guys think about yamaha rxv2500 or denon avr2106 or a cambridge audio receiver?? are they recommended for what i am thinking of getting?
--is there another model or brand that is better (a better deal for the money).

thanks

A 2106 would work fine. Or many in that price range. Look at features and pick the one that suits your listening style.

Most decent brand receivers will drive Axiom speakers with no problem. However, there have been issues with the 4ohm M80ti's. You should be fine. Purchase a receiver that has the bells and whistles you like. I like my Denon 2805, but it does have a slight learning curve and is not as easy to operate than some other brands.

What is your budget? The axiom subs rock, especially the 500 or 600
My hypothesis is to buy an HSU sub unless you can afford an EP500. Once you can afford an EP350, axiom becomes more competetive for the price.

my budget for a sub is around $400 dollars.
so the axiom sub is a bit more than i want to spend.
i'll definately check out hsu and other...

thanks for the input people
Anyone with a $400 budget should almost automatically choose the HSU STF-2.

Link

It's $426 with shipping.

I have one and it is simply amazing. You will not be disappointed. If you look, the VTF-2 MK2 is their $500 sub, which has gotten many, many shining reviews saying it is THE best sub for the money. However, the ONLY difference between the VTF-2 and STF-2 is that the VTF-2 has 2 tuning modes (VT = Variable Tuning, ST = Single Tuning). The STF-2 simply has the lower extension tuning mode, which is what the reviewers used when benchmarking the VTF-2 and this is the mode most people would use anyways. So, theoretically speaking, the reviewers meant that the STF-2 was the best sub for the money.

HSU STF-2 all the way!
