Does anyone have this set or this set?
If so, what are your impressions?
Also I can get either of these online for considerably less $$ than at the local BB or CC, but I'm a little tentative of ordering something so big and expensive online.
Should I be?
And last but not least....Any other suggestions in the 1500.00 to 2000.00 price range?

Good questions! I too am in the market for a new HD TV. Considering future needs, I am looking only at sets that have 1080p resolution.

i purchased from onecall.com good prices on tv's (if there is a sale or free shipping) but they are very good at cs (not axiom but still good)the only thing that is a concern is if you just plaijn dont like the set they do not do returns of items that big.

Well, no, but I've had this set for a few years now, and I'm still blown away by the image quality. I have an up-converting DVD player and a Dish Network HD DVR connected via DVI, and an XBox 360 connected via component, and all produce incredibly pristine and gorgeous images.

I spent a good bit of time with source material that I'm very familiar with playing on one of the 1080P HLR's when Tweeter got some in stock, and I honestly could detect only minor differences (and I hesitate to say improvement) in image quality compared to the 720P HLR's also in the store; grayscale performance was way better with the HLR, but overall the image seemed...almost softer in focus I guess is the best way of describing it. It's all about diminishing returns, and the price you're willing to pay for incremental improvement, in my opinion. Once 1080P devices start appearing, I'm sure the differences will become more apparent, of course.

I bought a 4667W about 3 months ago and love it. I researched for at least 4 months before buying it. I did buy it online, paid $100 shipping but still saved hundreds of $$ over BB or other stores like Tweeter, etc.

I've had no problems so far,although we couldn't get HD on it at first but that was because of our cable box. Since we got a cable card, the picture is unbelievable on both SD and HD channels.

The TV speakers didn't do anything for me but I have it running through my Axioms so of course it is great also. I don't know of anything that this set doesn't have and I honestly can't imagine a picture being any sharper.

This is my opinion only, however I think a pretty good one...

Brady, my only personal impressions of that type of set are just from viewing in stores, but from that plus published test reports I'd suggest that you consider this .

Admittedly, I'm a bit biased, but one thing to keep in mind concerning LCD projection systems is that over time, not only does the bulb, but also the LCD panel iteself begins to degrade. Over time the image quality (in particular color saturation) will worsen, and the only thing to be done is to replace the LCD panel. In contrast, with DLP technology, when the bulb is replaced, the image is as good as the day you bought the set.
