I've had my 60's for nearly 3 years now , they replaced a pair of Paradigm 7se v2. I have a 2 channel basement system in a room approx 19L x 12W which is part of a backwards L shaped room overall, with the remainder of the room being 13L x 12 W.
I've spent many a night downstairs listening to my system and always walk away admiring the midrange clarity , imaging and soundstage that these baby's have .
But what really impresses me about these speakers is when I slide my 3- 24x60" windows open down there , crank it up ( within reason) grab a cold one and go and sit in my detached garage enjoying the weather and listening in , it is truly amazing. You could swear that the band is down there playing, I've spent many a summer day enjoying my Axiom's and I think tomorrow is looking like one of those day's.
Cheers

You must have nice neighbors!
Have made a post M60 vs Paradigm Monitor 7.(Advice from users)What is the difference in the two speakers in your opinion?
I've had my Axioms for a month now and what I really love about them is the ability to feel the music. I can feel the bass and this makes a huge difference. My old system didn't have the power, so this is new to me. CRANK IT UP!!!
Yes I have really good neighbors, the people that live in behind me are hardly ever there ,the same goes for my neighbor on one side of me, and the other, well very very nice lady who's hearing isn't very good.

Again midrange clarity and imaging , when I first setup my Axioms it took me a litte time to get their placement right , but once I did boy was I ever rewarded.
To me these speaker's play with much more detail than my Paradigm's ever did.
I had my 7's for nearly 10 years and enjoyed them, that speaker was my first taste of good hifi, I was hooked.
I was actually hoping to upgrade to the Studio Series before stumbling across some Axiom's at a local retailer, so I did some research.
I should also mention that I never did audition Paradigm's Studio line , honestly I couldn't afford them.
So when I read about people comparing the Axiom's to the Studio line, I went and auditioned and bought them.
Hope this helps.

This is going to sound goofy, but in addition to how they sound, I love how they smell! I'm not sure what it is - maybe it's 'factory air' or the veneer or something from inside the speakers. But walking in the room to turn on the system is pleasant, and it is intensified when the sub has gotten a workout. Sort of an earthy, woodsy smell. Maybe a cross between wood and that new car smell. Odd, eh?

Not at all.... I loved the smell as well!
I find when I REALLY crank the system, I get the smell back.... likely from pushing so much air through the sub!
I've been through 7 speaker systems in past 12 years and this is THE only time I can say I've noticed a incredible difference accross the board from all channels of sound (7.1). The amount of sonic information, depth, clarity, and seperation continually takes me by surprise. Each viewing or listing brings on a new discovery and pleasure. ...not to mention how great the spakers look too! Oh, and smell, it takes me back to when I built models as a kid.
I know this is the stereo board but I think I have to make it a point to watch more movies with good surround sound. After several movies that are mediocre in that area I start to wonder if its the system! Dropping in 'House of the Flying Daggers' clears it all up tho...
-Brian n8wrl
Brian, if you run a search there are alot of threads on movies to show off your system, Flying Daggers is one of my favorites also.
Thanks, HD! Yes, I have a list. It's just that some of the 'other' movies aren't great, and if you watch too many in a row I start to wonder if it's my system? I can certainly understand now why there is an Oscar for sound!
-Brian
I love my Axioms because I can order a VP100 on Tuesday and have it in my hands Thursday afternoon.
Now to save up for a pair of QS4s...
Congrats on the new toy, then, dude!
Thanks! I was expecting the difference between phantom and actual center channel to be a little more subtle, but it really does make quite a difference in the solidity of the soundstage in surround modes (especially in Neo6 and PLII). I may never watch tv with just the tv speakers again.
Welcome to my world. Now get some QS4s.
I was tempted to get them now, but I think I'll wait till I can actually afford the extra spending money.
Why I love my Axioms...by Tarun.
"Because they are the best speakers on earth and come with a great group of people to help you get them tweaked just right.... I love my Axioms because of the message boards."
You sho' enough got lots of them.
I love my Axioms because it makes me use my system for music listening. Prior in getting my M60s, I have almost never listened to any CDs with my old system. I just didn't find the desire to listen any music using the small Energy satelitte speakers. I now find myself listening to music with the M60s hours at a time. So there..I love my Axioms for that.

A very common occurrence, Edwin, with an equally common affectionate result. To my delight, I too found my joy in listening to music unexpectedly rejuvenated by the Axioms. Enjoy!
