I am going to be getting new speakers to replace my Mission 707's(rubber rings around the woofers disintegrated), and I haven't been impressed that much with the budget priced speakers at the dealers here (B&W, PSB, JM Labs). I have read extremely good reviews of both the M22's and the nOrh 4.0's, and they are at the same price point. Unfortunatly they both come mail order here, and return shipping to Thailand is expensive! Has anyone listened to both of these speakers? I would be interested in your impressions.

I have not heard the nOrh, but if you read on this board there are reviews of comapring the M22's to other similar B & W's and Paradigm's and so on and so forth. My experience comparing M22's with these speakers is you need to spend about 2 to 3 times the price of the M22's to get the same quality of sound. You will not be disappointed if you order them.

try www.audioreview for reviews on the speakers you are interested in. Read both good and bad reviews, they are boht helpful.

alemeda,

I'm confused, do you live in Thailand? Your post says you would have to return ship the speakers TO Thailand, which would be expensive for the axioms since they are made and shipped from Canada.

I own the M22's and I love the sound of these speakers. They are the most revealing speaker I have ever heard at this price point, and they had me enjoying music like I haven't for years. I do think however they need a subwoofer to maximize their best characterisitics (as do most "bookshelf" speakers). With a subwoofer, these speakers truly present a great soundstage and are wonderful for music and home theater use.

The nOrh's are made and shipped from Thailand. They'll ship them to North America for free and will refund your money if you return them, but you have to pay for return shipping (I believe). This makes an in-home comparison with the M22's a more risky proposition!

Not at all...it is the same risk actually. Read the Axiom Guarantee below:

At Axiom, we believe that the only true way to audition loudspeakers is in your own home, with your own system - not in a soundproofed, controlled showroom.

That is why we will send you our products for 30 days with a no risk guarantee. We are so sure that you will love our products, that we can make this offer:

If Axiom loudspeakers do not surpass your highest expectations, send them back to us within 30 days and we will give you a full refund. No questions asked. Since we've included shipping in our costs, we only ask that you pay the return freight.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 1-866-294-6688, we'll be glad to help.

The problem is the return shipping to Thailand will amount to a couple of hundred dollars. It is very expensive to ship to or from countries in that region.

Have you received these yet? I have the the same Missions 707, the foam is also starting to go....ANd of course Mission does not support this speaker size anymore.
