So, I currently listen to 99.9% of my music from my computer. Mostly mp3s ripped at 192mhz or higher. Admittedly, not always CD quality, but usually close enough.

I am running an m-audio audiophile 2496 soundcard out to a Cambridge Audio 640A Integrated amp, and on to my M3tis. This setup sounds great most of the time, but can glitch when I'm running processor-intensive programs. One possible solution, would be to get an external DAC and run USB out. In my research, I came across the following product which seems to be a very interesting solution, albeit replace the Cambridge Audio.

PEACHTREE DECCO

Has anyone had any experience with this product? Think it would be a good match for the M3s?

Thanks,

-Josh

Josh, I'm not familiar with that unit, but to feed the USB output from my computer to my receiver for the purpose of listening to streaming online classical music I've used an item for several years that costs about 1/30th of that. All that's really necessary is a simple DAC and the necessary connecting wires and the Xitel is the one I use. There're some others in the same $30-$40 range.

I think I'm going to have to get that Xitel at some point.
