I just received a pair of M3s and I couldn't be happier. The sounds eminating from them are truly magnificent. My entire CD collection has taken on a new life, and my wife is afraid that she may never see me again.
My question concerns the surface that they are resting on. I realize that the best way to mount them would be on stands, but I have no choice other than placement in an existing bookshelf. There are no feet on the cabinets which is fine as I have them upside down to put the tweeters closer to ear level, but I don't know what to put them on. Should I have them on the surface of the shelf, on some sort of foam, or on something else? I'm a bit nervous about your response because if the sound improves at all I may never leave the couch again. Thanks

Sigh. Another happy couch potato. Our work is done :)

You've brought up a great point; if you send me your address, I'd be pleased to send you little (tiny) plastic stick ons to put on the "bottom" of your speakers. The surface doesn't scratch too easily, but the added stability is a great idea. Please send it to webmaster@axiomaudio.com.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. Would the plastic stickies be easily removable in case I ever return the speakers to the upright position?
