YES-- you read it right i have a Behringer 4000 watt amp connected to my M-22 bookshelf speakers and they sound absolutely awsome. But im not pushing 4000 watts into them though. More like 650 watts rms at 8 ohms. But even that is a lot. Im using a Behringer EP4000 Europower amp. Its made for pro-use., but it works fine for me. My music starts out thru my Monster reference power center, Then on to my custom built Super Computer, its a Thermaltake Level10-GT chasis, with my Gigabyte GA-890fAX-UD5 Motherboard, overclocked at 4.2 MHZ. Powered by a liquid cooled AMD Phenom-II Black Edition 6-core processor.with 16gb of ram, and a Gigabyte graphics card powered by a AMD Radeon HD-6850 GPU.My music is Flac Lossless played thru Foobar-2000. Then on to a Nuforce Icon HDP DAC and headphone amp, then on to a Art Cleanbox-Pro stereo balanced xlr converter, Then to my Behringer Ultragain-Pro tube pre-amp/ parametric eq. Then to my amp, then finally thru my Axiom M-22 speakers. Words cannot fully express how well this set-up sounds thanks Axiom.
Nice stuff. I'm glad you're enjoying your gear, but don't you think you can overclock to over 4.2 MHz?
For a minute I was thinking that SMOKEMONSTER was Bob's new alias. Hmm.

Do you play vynil for tru world audio sound?
M22s are great but with this kind of gear, it looks like you have the coins to get better, I mean all of this for $500 speakers!
Anyway, I'm glad you love it, in the end that's what matters.
awesome, any pics?

From my very brief research, that's a typical OC with that chip, and a good percentage increase. But, then again, it is liquid cooled....

Is IntelBurnTest compatible with AMD processors (I know the prefix denotes Intel, but ya never know)? It's regarded by many as the ultimate CPU stress tester. It racked up the temps when I tested my Q6600 3.2 GHZ overclock, but it passed.
Well my old Sansui from 1973 with only 28W is much better than my onkyo 3310. LOL So I guess that there is no need to 4000 Watt for me. smile

I was noting that MHz was stated, not GHz.

Nope. GOD is in Yarmouth, Maine this week, because some very nice people needed salvation from mortal design.

SMOKEMONSTER: Welcome! Glad you're loving your Axioms. Your set-up makes me wanna run right out and buy a 1973 Vega and replace the engine with a Dodge V-10.

Maybe I'll just bring my M60's down to Pilgrim Nuclear Power plant and see what happens.

Oh, and you may require special permission to have a screen name all in caps. :-0
Welcome SMOKEMONSTER!
i think he could get 4000 Watts only on a 240 volt line and a Variac to hold that voltage steady.

on a standard 15 Amp. line, continuous wattage is limited to less than 1800 Watts.

in the end, it's like my pro amp; it's about 700 W/ch but so far i've used only about 120 Watts/ch. which is plenty.
but it's always a good thing to have some spare, on condition one is careful with the gas pedal.

Oh. eek That's a really good underclock smirk .
Well, with a 4000 watt amp, he needs all the electricity he can spare. wink
HEHEHE!
ok where do i start. cv is that your profile or is that a cataloge for the man who wants eveything?. oh and sorry i goofed i meant ghz...no medic i haven't played a record in 30 years. we called them records or 8-tracks, maybe ill look into it... hey bdpf how ya doin? i got no coin im on a fixed income. no pics yet sir quack, still not done...wassup power to the people? its not to hot. i got a couple of 200mm fans in there also, keepin it real man... hey ichico, don't you mean denon 3310?... ok cv ,we get your point.. yea god, i was thinking about a set of cerwin vega cls-215's. let me know what you think this sunday at church. and say hey to jesus for me ok?. J, 4000 watts was peak. for show ya know. its actualy like 1200 watts rms at 8ohms bridged man. the ep-4000 can do around 600x2 rms at 8 ohms. but i don't want to make the m-22's explode. i just got them. in all seriousness i don't know how long ill keep this amp. i can't really use it the way it was intended. i can't tell you guys how many systems i have gone thru since i got out of the navy in 1974. i just wished i had all that cash right now. nice talkin to all of you. LOL my bad. Mistake my Denon for a Onkyo. LOL
JR, welcome, although I definitely feel something tugging at my leg. It should be pointed out that there're no such things as "watts RMS"; a watt is a defined unit of power and isn't subject to a Root Mean Square or any other type of average. You're probably aiming at watts being output continuously, rather than just peak output, but if that's the case your M22s are using about the same that mine do: 1 watt at a comfortably loud average level around 85dB and on the most dynamic classical material about 100 watts for a split-second peak around 105dB. The maximum capacity of the amplifier, regardless if it's 100 watts or 10,000 watts, doesn't change this.
Mr. Rogers.

Welcome, indeed!

You addressed each and every respondent. You rock!

You answered serious replies seriously, and jocular ones in context. You roll!

And you appear to dabble in excess. You rule!

Hope you hang around. GOD has always had a special place in his heart for anyone named Mr. Rogers.
hi all, john k your right. the whole watts thing has gotten way out of hand lately. most company's aren't very honest about what their products can really do. i have to put up some pics but i just sent one of my components back. ifeel the need to upgrade. man its like an addiction. as soon as i get it back up and running right ill post a few. bye

Hey, my dad retired from the Navy in 1974. He was a Pork Chop (Supply Corps) and served on the Manley, Boston, Borie, and Puget Sound, among others. He's not much for audio, though. As long as he can hear the call on his Yankee games, he's happy.
Oh My Self! Your Dad is a Yankees fan!?!?!

How horrible for you and your family.

And how brave of you to say it publicly.
JP is shameless relative to baseball.
hi all, i was on a destroyer(we called it a tin can). i was stationed in yokosuka japan, but spent most of my time in and around the south china sea. went to places lke subic bay in the philipines. and guam, hongkong, korea, thiland.heck we even went to sydney australia once. i was there and took part in the evac. of sigon. in 1975 after a awesome multi-country port call. my ship the USS BAUSELL-DD845 was decomisioned and used for target practice. and is now a home to the fish at the bottom of the pacific ocean. this all took place between 1969-1975. im thinking vintage audio. anyone have any ideas? im looking on audiogon and videogon. oh yea, whats the best way to upload pics.
You can upload your photos to one of the many online free websites, for ex., photobucket. Then, you can include the image link into your forum post on here. Or, there is a gallery section on the man Axiom thread options where you can upload multiple pictures.
