I was the lucky winner of the very first Axiom auction, a pair of high gloss cherry M50's. I check in to the forum from time to time but rarely see any comments regarding these speakers. In our home they do all the heavy lifting, no center, no sub, no surrounds. No space, No Problem! TV, cd's, DVD, streaming all sound terrific, our friends always remark about the quality/clarity of the sound. Anyone looking for a straightforward quality sound solution should seriously consider Axiom M50's. Put the money you save in the college or vacation fund. I'll follow up again in 2016 with rest of the M50 club.
Best,
Steve

That's great Steve; you have beautiful speakers and obviously are enjoying beautiful sound.

Just before ordering my most recent set (M3s), I was toying around with the idea of M50s instead. The lack of recent testimonials/reviews on them and their largish (deep) footprint turned me away however.

Rather wish the M40s were still available.

I have some M50v1s. Someday I'd like to hear some v3s. I'm sure the improvements are dramatic.

I've never heard M50's before but would expect they might sound similar to M3's?

Mine didn't, but there was a 2 generation difference.

Hi Ken and all,

Yes, the improvements to the M50 have been dramatic. When I first joined Axiom in 2002 and listened to the entire Axiom lineup to make recommendations, I found the M50 back then to sound "dull" and lack detail compared to the M22ti, M80ti and M60ti.
Because of that, I rarely recommended the M50ti to buyers.

A lot has changed over the years. When I last heard the M50v3 in a blind test, I was astonished it was the M50 that I'd been praising. It was really a well-balanced speaker and I changed my views.

Great. Now I want the M50's in addition to everything else.
