Does anyone have any experience with the Rocket 250's? How does their sound compare to the Axiom M3's or 22's?

I've heard the Rocket RS150...if it sounds anything at all like the RS250, then it's one of the most "laid back" speakers ever made. Voices in particular sounded VERY hollow and distant. Axiom M22ti's are just the opposite. Voices will sound like they are right in front of you.

Which is best for you is a matter of opinion. I prefer the detailed, clear sound of the Axioms, but many people like the laid back sound of the Rockets. You should listen to both - you'll love one, and hate the other. I don't think it's possible to hear a Rocket speaker and an Axiom speaker and like them equally. They're just too different.

spiffnme heard the RS150 at my place.

I totally agree with what he wrote. To me, it sounded like something was covering the speaker.

I have read that the RS250 is even less forward than the RS150. I do not understand how that is possible. But if it is, there is absolutely no way that if you like that sound, you will also like Axioms.

Curtis, correct your typo, please -- which is even more laid-back???

Incidentally, Onyx seems to be listening to these comments from people -- I understand that a "special" version of RS750 is being released, with a modified crossover that will make it less laid-back and less rolled-off at highs.

the RS250 is supposedly more laid back.
