I'm currently running room correction in my current system (elac dbr-62, still waiting for my M5HP) to arrive.

The M5HP seem to just have a capacitor on the tweeter and the mid-range and woofer just use the woofers own kinetic natural roll off.

I looked at the frequency response provided by Axiom Audio. I wanted to know for those who used room-correction (minidsp, dirac, anthem arc) to smooth out the frequency response curve, did you notice a significant improve?

I know this is heavily dependent on the in-room response curve and the characteristics of the room (treated, vs non-treated vs wave interference).

Thanks in advance to any feedback!
The M5 bookshelves needed 15 dB of bass attenuation in my 1920 cu ft living room. In my 4200 cu ft space, I could have lived without XT32 "correction" but they sounded better with Audyssey on. The M5OW in my living room need about 5 to 10 dB of bass attenuation for mid to loud listening depending on the tune.

Listen to them for a few weeks without correction. They can take 30 hours to break in.
Im happy with my M5s in my room without EQ. It measures 12x19x8 if I remember rightly. It is treated though, and has a 3’ crawlspace under it that is insulated. It may serve as a bass helper outer.

In another house we setup M5s in a 19x22x8 theater. Manual setup. No EQ needed. Again, the room was preplanned and treated properly.

In another room we used M5IW flanking a 110” screen. No EQ needed. Again, room was designed properly.

We have another build in roughin stages with M5s planned. Can report in a couple months when ready for install.

Bottom line, if they are setup properly, they are pretty easy to get along with. I cant recommend them highly enough. Great value.
At my FWB's, they're running in my 20 year old Denon totally uncorrected. They sound great! No sub.
