Hi,
I have auditioned some receivers yesterday and the dealer had Paradigm Sutio 60 v3 on the floor. I was very impressed with these speakers. I really liked the soundstage, positioning, clarity, good balance. The bass was on the lighter side, but very tight and they were a little bit on the bright side for me, but bad at all. I was wondering has anyone auditioned Studio 60s before getting M60 or M80 and how do they compare. I am primarily interested in 2 Ch. music. Also, could someone comment on the choice of Marantz SR8300 versus rotel SRX-1055 or 1056?
Thanks a lot

vasia,

Many people have found that the Axiom M60s are on par with the Paradigm Studio 60s -- well, except for the price, that is.

This is what I can offer ... I have 40's and 100's V2 ... I listened to the 60's and 80's (Which I believe they stopped making the Studio 80's) by Paradigm and they are not as well balanced IMO compared to 40's and 100's .

The 60's in particular I remember sounding a little fat in the middle and the bass was a bit bloated (They are fine speakers , so I mean this in a minimal way)

I picked up Axiom M22Ti's then the M3Ti's and I truly like the sound of these. They compare very favorably to the Studio 40's (The 40's have more bottom end than these though) The quality sound they produce is simply excellent IMO.

Having said that I have not heard M60's or M80's yet , but if they produce the same level of quality sound they should be at least as good as the Paradigms for a lot less money.
