So I have had my m60's for a week now. Been doing a LOT of listening:

I won't go into a lot of audiophile detail, so I will just say OH YEeeAaaahhhH!!!!! Now I KNOW what soundstage/imaging/transparent speekers etc is.

Went through a lot of my CD collection, rediscovered some old favourites, heard things I haven't heard before on the tracks, actually made out a lot more lyrics than before.

Then I decided to try an repair my old dual record player, was successful; and then, OH MY GOD!!! Don't wanna get too much into the analog/digital thing -- but the sound from my old lp's just blew my socks off -- total 3-dimensional music, MASSIVE WIIIIDDDDEE sound-stage, spooky good, on some tracks cymbals seemed to feel like they were playing in my skull!!!

So now I'm rediscovering my old vinyl and loving it, haven't heard those records for years. Unfortunately i'm rapidly becoming a seriously addicted audiophile; what's happening to me?

Let me be the first to break this to you. The 8 tracks are going to sound the same way they did 30 years ago.

Reel to reel might be interesting. When I got my M60s I was really wishing I still had the old Teac and a few of those "one generation from the final mix" tapes.

I was actually kind of disappointed playing vinyl through the M60s, but then again the turntable I had at the time was MUCH better than the turntable I have today.

I was just being sarcastic

And oh yeah, forgot to mention.....

on the cd/digital whatever side....

I like electronica and rap/hip hop (or whatever you wanna call it) too. These speakers were the first time I've heard "Angel" by Massive attack resoloved properly. Also, my Lamb CDs sound superb.

If you like Jazz and sometimes get little curious about modern electronic music and like high quality engineering/production I would highly recommend Lamb; although her over the top singing can get a bit too much they do some great instrumentals.

St Germain too. Sounds great through a "modern" system.

So was I. It feels good after a long week

Lee Aaron is playing a couple of floors up on the M60s. Comes through pretty clearly down in the basement. Good toe-tapping stuff, not what you would expect from "the Metal Queen".
