Every so often I feel compelled to post about how good M2s can sound when paired with a decent sub (I have a PSB 6i, probably in the same league as EP350) on both music and HT.

I bought the PSB when I thought I was going to be listening mostly to music, but after discovering HT with real good speakers I'm wishing I had picked up an SVS or HSU (or the new EP500/600) instead.

If you want to get high volume out of M2s you need to run a decent A/V receiver and set the mains to "small" so they don't try to drive deep bass, but once you do that the sound is pretty darned impressive.

Part of me is thinking about getting an even better sub, but I don't have time to fix all the vibrating and buzzing things in my house already.

I agree. I have my M22s set to small so that they don't even try to reproduce below 80 Hz. It leaves them totally free to concentrate on the mids and upper frequencies, which they do very well.

i am glad to hear this from ya'll.. my sister has asked me to build her an HT system, and she is on a tight budget. she has a small to medium sized living room, so i am going to experiement with some small speakers.

i ordered 2 pair of the discontinued M1ti's from CanadianHiFi.com. i will use 1 pair as fronts, and mount the other pair as surrounds. i have yet to get a center channel. i had serious concerns that the small speakers would have problems with producing enough sound, but your comments here have eased my doubts. i have faith in the axiom products, and hope that i am not disappointed once i get it all set up for her.

BTW- not trying to do a gratitious plug, but the people at canadianhifi were great. my emails were replied to by the president of the company, and the staff person i placed my order with was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. i would highly recommend them.

Speaking of smaller center channels. Anyone interested in a axiom ctc-20 center? I've had it sitting in the box for about 8 months now doing nothing since I got my vp150. In case anyone is interested it's in pristine condition.

I guess when you compare M2s to the little satellite speakers most HTIB systems use they are positively HUGE by comparison...

After a year I still think my M2i's sound great with my little EP-125!
My apartment is small, and the output from this system is more than adequate for the 12'x12' room.
