will the bass still go to my main speakers or is the bass recorded on a seperate channel that I can;'t mix in?

I have M80's, don't listen loud and can't afford a sub, so this is why I need to know if I can do this or not.

Yes, the bass will be directed to your main speakers. It does in my case, I suppose this may not be true for all receivers.
