Hey guys I recently listened to the Infinity Beta 50 for a very long time and I really enjoyed them. Has anyone heard both the beta and the Axiom M60?

Im wondering if the M60 is even at the same level as far as imaging, detail, etc are concerned. Ive heard the M60 is more comparable to more expensive speakers but I would like an honest account from someone.

Secondly for those that have heard both Im wondering if they are tonally similar. (I was at Circuit City and I enjoyed the tonal characteristics of the Infinity Beta much more than the Polk Monitor 70 just to give a sample of what I like)

Thanks.
Can anyone give any input on this?

An apples to oranges point, perhaps; but Audioholics did a speaker face off series a couple years back, and in that series a pair of Axiom M22s were tested, as were a pair of infinity floorstanders. They were in a seperate series of tests but they did use a similar rating system. Going by the ratings alone; the generic Axiom blew the generic Infinity right out of the water

Like I say; its sort of apples and oranges, and it did happen some few years ago so it may not be totally accurate for the current crop of Infinities; but it is a fun read and does add some historical perspective

Rich.

Hey Zack, I've noticed your posts on AVS also. Where do you live? Have you checked Audition thread in the "Hearing Things" forum. You may be able to find a person in your area that would be willing to let you listen to their Axioms.

I live in Canton Ohio. I think I remember checking somewhere before and the closest person being in Cleveland. Hopefully Im wrong about that.

I'm listed as being in Cleveland with Axioms, but unfortunately (or "fortunately" if you're my brother), my Axioms now reside at my brother's house in Ft. Myers, FL. Much too long a drive from Canton.

I'm the one that sent you a PM over at av123, offering to demo my Rockets for you. Yes, I own Rockets now, but I remain a devoted fan of, and advocate for, Axioms, and have no qualms about recommending them to anyone.

I think another member Flip22 lives near Pittsburgh which would be about 90 miles for ya, he hasn't had his 60's that long. You could always try the 30day free offer from Axiom

Sometimes that 30 day in home trial is the best thing. Axiom WILL take them back if you a not satisfied. Worth the return freight (if it should happen) IMHO.
