I just noticed on the website that there looks like a 4% price increase on all products coming Feb. 28.

I'm still waiting for my M22's from the factory outlet, but have paid for them already. I'm thinking of ordering up a set of QS8's as well, so might as well save the 4% and do it now.

Anybody ever have any regrets in purchasing their QS8's?
Not me!

The 8s are very forgiving in placement and do a great job.
The QS8's are great speakers, Imho one of Axioms best products.
ctown,

the QS8s are frackin' amazing (too much BSG). I don't even have them setup yet on the wall downstairs, just upstairs on some soup cans...they are very non-placeable...I have been listening to music in 5 channel surround, My setup right now is not even close to optimum (the surrounds are at ear level), the music coming from them is so ambient, makes it sound like I am at the actual concert when listening to live CDs...crazy stuff. I love em!

I can't compare them to other surrounds as this was my first system, but i think they are amazing.
The price hike is modest at best. The price hike across the board is low IMHO.

I'm still trying to decide on QS4's or 8's. Seems like everyone is buying the 8's, is the reason because they are that much better? I currently have the M60's and VP100.

I agree that 4% is modest, but I might as well save it if I'm gonna buy these anyways. I'm going with the QS8's since that is what was recommended to me by Axiom for my size of room. The VP150 will come later.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

To me, the difference in price between the 8s and the 4s was too minor when deciding to get the top of the line surround that Axiom has to offer...if they had another model higher up (like a QS12 or something) that was yet another couple hundred more, I probably would have gone with the 4s.

But I am glad I got the best Axiom has, this way there is no upgrading to do (its just not possble which is nice).
Remember, you heard the 8's at my house and they match the 22's perfectly. You will not regret it. Glad to hear you are spring for them early! It is worth it.

I went from using some quality bookshelf speakers for surrounds to the QS8s. The difference in surround effects is absolutely noticeable. I'm hearing twice as many surround effects and I'm re watching movies to discover effects I just never noticed before. Music seems to sound better too but the difference in movies is amazing. Even my wife noticed and that's something.

I think the main reason we all buy QS8s is either (a) we're a bunch of geeks and like the idea of having identical drivers in all three speakers, or (b) the price difference is relatively small so "what the heck".

The "proper" reason for buying QS8s is that you have a larger room and big mains/center and don't want to have any concerns about playing cleanly at high volumes.

I have never heard of anyone buying QS4s and deciding they needed to upgrade.

Having said that, I bought QS8s for both of the "wrong" reasons listed above
