Have any of you guys purchased refurbished Axioms?

I've been looking for a couple of months in to getting some Axiom M60's and have finally decided to pull the trigger. Has anyone had any experience buying refurbished products from Axiom? If so how have you liked them. Thanks,

When you say refurbished are you talking about the Factory Outlet? If so, these are not refurbished, they are brand new speakers.

If by refurbished, you mean the refurbs on eBay, then we (well, not me) are the source of them!

And in most cases would be in great shape then. $\:\)$

Yes the refurbished Axioms I was looking at were the M60's on ebay. In your opinion would I be better off buying the refurbished and saving some money or buying from the factory store? I'm just now getting started building my home theater set up and these would be my first purchase. I'm looking to start with the fronts and then buy the rest at a later date. Thanks for the help.

There probably isn't anything wrong with the refurbished speakers. Like Ken said, the majority of those come from us using the trade-in program to upgrade. My M40s were well cared for.

Speakers don't really 'degrade over time'. At least not in the time since M60s hit the street. As long as they have been treated kindly, they should sound as good as brand new ones.

I first thought you were referring to a private seller but it's not, these actually come from Axiom. I would personally trust them to ensure you are getting a top quality item. They are the original builders so I would assume they are replacing any required parts with original oem replacement parts. Not sure aboput cosmetics but I bet they function/sound just like a brand new one.

Just my personal opinion from monitoring their service levels via this forums and others.

I was looking at the M60s sold recently on eBay as well but by the time auction finished, they sold for $845. An hour later, I ordered mine directly from Axiom and got them delivered this morning. Haven't opened the box yet but as soon as I am done writing this e-mail, I am doing that :):).
