I'm thinking of buying the Epic 60/500 Home theatre setup in 5.2.

However, I don't think I can wall mount the rear speakers. Because of the room, they are best mounted in the ceiling. (Room has a nana wall to a deck in the rear)

Question is: Will the T2 In Wall Speakers be enough to match the speakers I'm putting in the front? They will be located in a vaulted ceiling about 9.5 feet high, Above and slightly behind the main listening position.

Thanks for any advice.

Peter
Peter, although you refer to the "rear" speakers, apparently you're talking about the side surrounds which should be just slightly farther back than directly to the sides of the listening position. Your comment about the wall to the deck isn't entirely clear. Do you mean that there's no side wall position available for the mounting? If so, I'd think that a better idea than in-ceiling speakers would be to mount QS8s on the ceiling, spread widely apart and slightly behind the listening position.
Like John says I think your talking about the "side" surrounds in a 5.x setup, they should not be behind you. Many of us have mounted Q series speakers from the ceiling using DIY or the Axiom brackets.
From experience, I can say the Q series is much better than a direct radiating in-ceiling surround if you can find a way to make it work.
Thanks for the responses and yes - I mean Surround speakers. Sorry about that.

The room is very wide, and the ceiling is vaulted. The entire back of the room is a bi-fold door to a deck. I know the room will be acoustically challenging but its all I got.

Because of the width and the vault, it would be hard (and quite ugly) to hang speakers from the ceiling pointed inwards. I therefore thought I could put them in-ceiling.

I'll take your advice on the Q speakers tho and have another look with my contractor.

Thanks!

The Axiom bracket pivots and angels, so you might be able to mount them on the angles and get the right look. Also Omnimount makes a ceiling bracket for upto 10lbs or 20lbs speakers that might work as well. Or maybe inceiling might work as well.
You can alleviate the oddity of the look by picking a color that might blend in better with the slope. Just a thought. And not saying the in-ceiling will sound bad. Just that in terms of pure performance, you will likely enjoy the Qs more. But we are all familiar with the trade-offs needed in HT.
Thanks to all of you for your advice - after getting windows measured today, I find I have 13 inches between the top of the window and the start of the ceiling.

I think this should be enough space to mount the Q8s as surround speakers. They will be high on the rear wall, but not so far back from the seating position that it will cause a problem.

5.2 it is!

Cheers

Great Peter,

So when you say rear wall, your still saying they will be to the "SIDES" of the listeners, but just slightly back? I just want to make sure you understand the side surrounds go to the sides of you, not the rears as in 7.x.
I have my qs8 at the rear gallery and they sound better on the side. The truth is that we added another pair of speaker yesterday (7.1 setup) and we were sold. We'll be ordering another pair of qs8 for the side.
