the guy is showing up on friday to buy one of my guitars...once cash is in hand, the wife says i can order the speakers. Now how long it will take to get them here..Not sure.

I did talk to an Axiom guy..just to make sure my amp and stuff would work right. Which was no problem. the only thing he said which...KIND of made me feel...uneasy. Was don't expect them to sound like your old speakers...which to be honest, probally nothing would really sound like the old Polks.
Plus the fact your dealing with 25 year old speakers...

Is there a "breakin" period on these...or really a more EAR breakin...were you just get more used to the speakers?
no breakin, just enjoy, delivery time depends on where you live and if your ordering new or auction.
However long it takes is always tooooooo long.

I think there absolutely can be an ear break-in, depending upon the speakers that you're accustomed to.
Speakers don't "break-in" but during operation and as the voice coil heats up, this can cause the measured T/S parameters of the driver to change slightly. Nothing really significant to worry about unless the speakers are outdoors in cold weather or your house and therefore drivers in the speaker are very cold. Psychoacoustics and the science around the psychological responses of sound perception and ones own cognitive behavior relating to new purchases is a more realistic view on how perceived sound changes occur in the first hours, weeks, months of the ownership of new speakers in comparison to old.
Yup , i agree with the EAR breakin. I don't think they will sound like the Polks, but, there 25years old...and is some cases..i hear stuff, that dosen't sound good..or bothers me sort of speak.

I'm buying the M80's off the auction site..buy it now thing. But in any case, i "assume" it's going to take close to 2 weeks to get to GA. Not a problem..i can wait. The fact that i can play any CD i want..and NOT have to worry about what the volume is, pretty much floats my boat all day long...LOL
Basically i can play a Zack CD ..and turn it up...LOL
M80s can take gobs of power as long as your amp can provide it(avoid clipping at high volume with underpowered amp).
Yes, the M80s are loud. There's a report here that neighbors have concerns about someone getting M80s.
laugh laugh laugh Good one Mark!
Mine shipped Monday. Pretty quick delivery to MA.
Well i'm sure they don't ship over the weekend, so i would guess it would go out the door monday. As long as i have a tracking # so i know what day there "supposed" to show up, is fine.

The UPS people down here just seem to drop stuff and run. Last time they left a $1600 keyboard by my garage door. Didn't even bother to ring the doorbell. Good thing it was not raining..LOL
From my experience, once you get your e-mail notice, that means that they sent a pick-up order to FEDX (or whatever they start with), then about 2 working days later, it gets picked up. Then about 4 days later it arrives (in my situation).
