Axiom! After much listenin this weekend, I've decided on my Axiom setup of M22v3, QS8's and VP150. What really sold me after all the notes were evaluated was the center speaker. The Verus Forte could not blend the middle of the sound stage as well as the 150. There were some lows and mids missing. The dialog was not as sharp at lower volumes. The surrounds were pretty close. I think the Aperions had a slight edge on detail, but the overall sound was better from the QS8s. And after some tweeking of the channel levels and EQ Pro of the SC-55, the M22's sounded spot on. I like the MCACC, but I'm convinced you have to set it where you like it. If you like a little more high tonation, then put it there.

And finally, customer service was a factor too. I work all week, as I'm sure we all do (or want to) and I emailed Aperion Friday afternoon EDT if they would be available for some tweeking sessions on Saturday, you know, some advice for THEIR speakers. I didn't receive anyword from them until today, saying sorry we aren't available on saturdays. I know I have emailed Axiom and Brent or Ian have responded with answers to my questions.

So there you have it. I'm part of the Axiomites now. I'm saving for another pair of QS8s for the surround backs.

I'm a bit surprise that it's the VP150 that pushed your decision, I would have put my money on the QS8s (that's why I always loose at casinos laugh ). I'm glad you're enjoying the Axioms, congratulations!

Excellent. Welcome!

I think the VP150 is a highly under rated speaker. People from Axiom say to use the VP100 unless you have a larger room. I typically sit about 8 feet away from the speakers. I used the VP100 for about 1 1/2 years. Then switched to a VP150. The VP150 matches the M22'S a lot closer than the VP100 does.

Note: I'm comparing the on/in wall varieties of center channels against the bookshelf M22.

Excellent. Do you have a write up on your listening notes? I'd be interested to read your impressions and comparisons.

I'm with Bruno on the surprise re both VP150 and QS8's. No matter however as it's what you like that counts. Enjoy them!

Cool! I think you've done one of the more exhaustive comparisons.

So, now that you've decided you like the vp150, when are you upgrading to the vp180... wink

The VP180 is too big to fit in my setup. That's why I had to use the Forte Center instead of the Grand Center in the comparison. The Grand center is huge!! Weighs a ton too.

See now, you're just not looking at this from the right perspective. Your cabinet is too small. You can do something about that. grin
