Just ordered M22ti! Does anyone here have experience with M22ti + VTF-2? I have an old Onkyo stereo receiver and will be connecting the sub and speakers thru speaker-level connection. What low-pass frequency produces a good blend? Thanks in advance for any input.

I'd suggest starting with a standard 80Hz crossover setting and going from there. I know the M22tis can play well below 80Hz, but by relieving them of low bass duty, the mids should come through much more clearly.
Welcome to Axiom, Peter and I'm sure that you'll like the M22s plus VTF-2 better than the Polk system(did you return it?). However, a similar question comes up on the VTF-2 as it did on the 250, i.e. is the high-level speaker output full-range or does it have a high-pass filter to the mains. Since the Hsu site speaks of a high pass at about 90Hz but the manual says full-range, it might be a good idea for you to talk with Dr. Hsu to resolve the question. If there is in fact a 90Hz high-pass, that would work very well with the M22s and allow you to set the VTF-2's low-pass to the sub at or very close to its 90Hz maximum.
Hey John. You must have seen my question posted on the Polk site. Yeah, I decided to return the PSW 250 - just not enough bass... I will probably keep the Rti38's though - they really are decent speakers for the price I paid ($240 US).
I am pretty sure the VTF-2 does not have a high-pass filter, so the signal that goes to the M22ti will be full range, which means that I need to set the low-pass crossover on the VTF-2 unit at the point that the M22ti begins to roll-off (~60 Hz?).
I am hoping that some people on this forum have the M22ti/VTF-2 combo and could share some of their experience with the units.

My receiver does not have sub-output, so I will be connecting the reciver to the subwoofer through speaker-outs, and the speakers will be connected thru the subwoofer - which means that the M22ti's will be operating at full range (without being relieved of bass duties). This means that I need to set the VTF-2 low-pass crossover frequency at the point that the M22ti begins to roll-off on base - I assume that will be in the 50 - 80 Hz range. I am hoping that someone on the forum has already gone thru this and could share their experience.

Does your Onyko have a pre-amp out loop? If it does, you can connect those to your sub to take advantgage of the superior line level connection. You'll also need a couple y-adapters so you can then refeed the signal back into the amp.
The connection would go like this:
Connect the single end of a Y cable into one of your pre-amp outs (L or R).
Connect one of the split ends back into the pre-amp in. (You may need a short length or RCA cable to complete the loop.)
Connect the other end to an RCA cable that leads to your subwoofer.
Do the same with the other channel.
By the way, my receiver is Onkyo TX-904 which puts out 60 watts per channel - purchased in 1991. They are still holding up well. Would there be much benefit in upgrading to a newer unit?

You can find good deals on Pioneer Elite/Yamaha/Denon's that are freshly discountinued lines.
How about for strictly stereo use? I do not need any home-theatre settings.
