I am about to buy an Axiom system. I live in a 1BR, and my couch is only about 6-7 ft from my television. I could place the front speakers up to 8 or 9 ft apart and surrounds would go about 7-8 ft behind the front speakers. Overall room is about 10 X 13 or so. The real factor, is that I have 20' cathedral ceilings. (So in other words, its a really small room, but has high ceilings)
I was going to get M60's, but will the sound be too distorted at that distance? Will the sound be too harsh? I often like to hear at a distance of 5-8 ft. I'm thinking of getting M22's instead.
One other question, right now I am a little budget constrained. I was thinking about spending $1500 to get the entire M22 system w/ an SVS sub. But how much does a center, surround and sub get used if you mainly listen to music and if home theater is secondary? Thanks a million.
Oh and about how much would you budget for cables for an entire new 5-channel system with reciever, dvd/cd player and television? Would it run $100-$200, or would I need to spend more?
