Yeah, I know, not ideal...

If the Dell/Panasonic gods bless me a don't cancel my order, I should be receiving a plasma sometime next month. My dilemma is mounting my VP150. I believe it may be too tall to put under the display (the stand is too short) so I have to mount it above. I can straddle the mount across 2 shelves in a corner, but I'd have to create a 2nd shelf AND it's not the most earthquake proof here in California.

Any ideas?

I'll try to post a pic here.

How about mounting a triangular shelf in the corner just above the TV to hold your center channel? I don't think they 'em at IKEA, so you'll have to make it yourself.

Hmm... if it were me, I would remove some of those shelves on the blue-colored wall, and place the plasma flat along that wall. By placing the plasma in the corner, you are effectively killing its most salient appeal -- the thin cabinet/footprint.

If you still have to place the TV in the corner, in addition to what Peter suggested, I would consider hanging the center channel from the ceiling with chains.

Wouldn't hanging a speaker from chains possibly exaggerate cabinet resonances? I suppose the chain length matters a lot. I know I'm probably exaggerating a lot here, but you don't want the chain to be the exact length at which standing waves occur, although that might look really cool.

chains? man, that'd be like being in a niteclub or bar... Does Axiom have the "Full Metal Chain"?

Yes, as I said, not ideal. But it's temporary. The plan is to mount the plasma over the fireplace. I have to have the walls above the fireplace retaped and sanded anyways. So while doing that, I may have some of the walls opened up run conduit to hide the audio/video cables to the panel. This won't happen till next year since it's a BIG MESS when the walls are sanded down.

Ah crap, I may have rearrange the whole room.

Ahh... I was almost going to suggest the wall above the fireplace as another possible location for the plasma. That should look nice, too!
