Greeting! I've been eyeing the AS5 audio rack in the outlet store for a couple months now. I've read the old postings and was wondering if would like to give us an update on their likes/dislikes regarding this stand. Are the wire management holes big enough? Any other advice or recommendations? Thanks...
I've got one. The holes in back are probably big enough, but I don't have all my wires in there. Looks pretty good. Feels pretty solid. Just bought a 300 disc CD changer that is about 3 inches too deep for the shelves. No biggee - just letting it hang.
BigWill,
Let me guess; you bought the Sony 300-CD changer (I forget the model number) right?

I have the same one. I believe it is 21 inches deep. It barely fits on the very bottom shelf in my current entertainment center. I had to remove the back cardboard piece that keeps you from seeing the wall behind the unit in order for it to fit with the cables attached.

I will be building a flexy rack to house my components. I'll be going w/24" deep shelves.
I bought one a few weeks ago and I think its decent for the price I paid($200 CA). I was originally planning to get a Gusdorf stand ($249), but when I went to the store and measured the unit it turned out to be too wide for where I needed to put it. I do have a few complaints about the stand however:

-The shelves arent deep enough, my DVD changer and receiver barely fit and my laserdisk player doesnt quite fit.

-Assembly was difficult due to poorly cut holes and the threads on the support rods being rusty. (ended up rethreading it)

-My receiver overheats after a few hours when placed anywhere other than the top shelf. (not sure why this happens, my last stand had the same vertical clearance but it didnt overheat on it)
Michaeld, yep - $200 Sony changer. Holds them all with every disc available at the touch of a button. Big shout out to my bad homie JohnK for the tip - you rock, dude.
