Are there dvd players that come with Faroudja's acclaimed DCDi™ de-interlacer and are less than 150$. Thats how much i can spend now as my current one stopped working and had to return the pioneer 563A.

Any comments on denon refurbs from eCost, they carry a Denon 900 for 94$, like 150$ less than the original.
Try trolling Crutchfields outlet and scratch and dent stores for good deals.
Ecost has the Denon 910 for 129, the Denon 1805 for 102, and the Denon 2815 for 175 which is a little more then what you have to spend, but thought I'd mention it anyways.

I'll keep poking around and see what else I can come up with, but that at least gives you a few options.

Panasonic!! Faroudja chip, cheap, great.
Raj, I don't believe that any players with the Faroudja chip are available new in your price range. The 910 tested better than the 900, so it or the 1805 which SC also mentioned might be a better bet.
If you can get your hands on a Panasonic RP26, you'll have a very inexpensive DVD player with a Faroudja chip. AV Guide (an excellent on-line resource) likes the Panasonic S55 ($130) which they think is comparable to some $1000 DVDs for picture quality but not audio. The Samsung HD931 uses a Faroudja chip, has DVI output upscales to 780p/1080i, excellent picture quality and good sound for $299. AVGuide flipped over the Sony DVP NC685V which according to AVG matches the Sony flagship DVP NS999ES in both picture, sound and SACD playback! The NC685V goes for $250 and sounds like a winner.

Just a few ideas.
THNX EVERYBODY!!

Very useful replies.....am zeroing on denon 1200 from ecost, need to spend 200$ ,but i guess it will be worth the money
I purchaced DVP-NC685V from sony. Its a 5 cd/dvd/sacd changer with outstanding picutre quality. Its quiet and plays well. No probs so far......I need to get some more cables to get the sacd playing, well that gonna be a while cause i have never seemed to stop spending on the setup....

I tried to find one of the Sage-Faroudja chip players by Panasonic. They're a couple years old but still rate very highly. The RP-82 is a single play, the DVP-72 a 5 disc changer and both have this chip. The RP-55, a single play is an older one that has it also but does not rate quite as highly. I happened upon a 72 and a 55 at the local Panasonic Store and bought both for $85 each. I'm using the 72 and it is very good. I was unable to find any of these used through Amazon or Ebay so you might check and see if you have a Panasonic Store local or ??????

Here is the report I got the info from.
