Have a 80W per channel Onkyo now but I am considering the warmer sound of a HK AVR-330 rated @ 55W per channel...any thoughts?

I think most people around here will say there will be little or no difference between the two. Regardless, I thought Onkyos were also known for a slightly warm quality, no?

I have a hk230 and sounds great. It was powering a pair of jbl e80's until I sold them in favor of the m22's, which I'll be ordering soon. Before I settled on the hk230 I tried out several receivers(Pioneer 411,711, denon 1403,1603,) which had nice features but sounded thin with my jbls. I finally went to circuit city and bought an hk130 skeptical of its 45 watts per channel. Boy was I wrong. It gave my speakers a rich, full sound with a better soundstage and punchier bass. Well I took it back to the store before the 30 day warranty was up decided to buy an hk230 on ebay from harman audio. No problems whatsoever. I haven't listened to the 330 but the specs and power supply are almost the same as my 230. I believe the 330 has 5 more watts per channel and a zone 2 configuration. If you can do an in home trial with a money back guarantee that would be your best bet. Hope this helps.
