Pretty simple, which do you prefer, is it harmful to have them off (dust? dirt?).

Thoughts?

I don't have mine yet *cries* I just ordered last week and they're being custom finished, so we'll see.

I generally keep the grills off, just because I like the look. If you do keep them off though, I'd suggest dropping a couple bucks on a feather duster. Just give them a light brush every once in awhile to keep the dust off.

I leave my grills on. Just safer in general, not that the grills are particularly stiff. They come off easily if you tug at them (although that's not to say they fall off or anything) with the exception of the covers on the qs series. So if you want to show them off for a while it's no trouble.

With two rambunctious Golden Retrievers (tails wagging in every direction), GRILLS ON!

ditto to all the above.. there is no performance difference with the grills on or off.. its all about how they look. everyone has their own preference.

i really like the way they look with the grills off.. my wife likes them with grills on, so as you could imagine, the grills are on. if you have a 'significient other' in the house helping you make decisions, you might end up with grills on also..

you said you ordered custom finishes?? what did you get, and what grill color?? once they get there, as always, we want pics!!

Yeah, that sounds familiar. I take off the grills when I listen to them, just because I like the look better.

I ordered Charcoal Smoke with black grilles, and sure I'll take pictures assuming the digital camera is working (it's been in for repair thrice.... )

i havent seen that combo yet.. i would assume with that selection that you have a more modern type decoration theme going on in your house. ?? me personally, i am going for the 'rustic hunting lodge' look. oak, with big-man rocking chair, deer head on wall, and 4 hanging, 5 light chandoliers.

definitely follow up with some pics, if possible.

Daphoid,

This is usually dependant on what "extra moving objects" will be circulating in the room where they are placed. (e.g. dogs and/or kids).
Personally I opted for gills off as I like the look of those shiny aluminum cones staring at me. LOL

Grills on ... I have young kids around the house most the time.. I must admit when they are away at grandma's house, I take the grill covers off and dance around naked (oh wait wrong forum )

Do you buy the speakers a drink and attempt to fondle their gorilla ports too?

If he's dancing around naked, I'm a little scared about what else might be going into those gorilla ports!

oh dear, now look what has happened to my wonderful thread

I think I will try both, but I'm leaning towards off, if not 'off when I want to show it off' .

oh yes, of course.. even if you leave the grills on, you will still be pulling them off from time to time to show your friends.

i got $20 bucks says the first time you do, they go right for the gorilla ports.. its like candy in front of a baby. they cant resist.
