I'm thinking of buying the QS8s from the factory outlet channel. Any expererience anyone can share. I'm looking for the basic black nothing special. Is there a wait time, how's the quality, and what is the discount?

If you ordered -- we're you happy with the the "imperfections" that they say upfront?

In the factory outlet the black QS8's say there is a 12 week wait.I got my M80's from the outlet and can't find a darn thing wrong with them.I have checked every sqaure inch of them,so if there is something there I can't find it.

i guess I could call, but I'm lazy... what's the discount? do you know? Since they are just "rears" I guess I can wait 12 weeks, but that's pretty harse.

the factory discount is 10% off regular price.

and from past conversations, the factory outlet speakers are every bit as beautiful as the regulars. you should have no reservations about going that route to save some cash.

forget the last post... I found the link... I haven't had my coffee yet this morning. I was glad to hear you couldn't find even a ding on your 80s. are you running 7.1?

thanks John. 12 weeks seems a bit harse... as a wait time. Speaking of lazy. The rears were the original location of my surrounds... so I left the extra brackets mounted there. That's oneof my drinving reasons for going with the Q's back there because the mounts are already ready. NOw, I'm thinking I'll end up regretting not getting directs for the rears. Obviously, I need more think time on this one. I do love those Q series speakers though. especially for some of the high trebs. (being an old drummer -- I need extra highs than most listeners, since some of hearing is shot)

I just received a pair of M3ti's from the factory store yesterday. The wait was stated as two weeks but they shipped in about 10 days. I would say the quoted times are a shade on the conservative side. So perhaps the wait for QS8's wouldn't be quite so long, but who knows?

I spent about 10-15 minutes looking for an imperfection and I just can't find anything substantial. There is one minute blemish in the bottom corner of one of the speakers, but I think it is just a spec of dirt or something.

The wait, as compared to my original M22/QS8/VP150 purchase was tough (relatively speaking), even at only 2 weeks! I'm not sure I would order a whole system from the factory store for that reason alone, but an additional pair? In a heartbeat.

I got my M60's, VP150 and QS8s from the Factory Outlet. They are flawless I can't see a single thing wrong with them.

The day I was at the factory I'm sure I heard this comment...

"People we're getting far too efficient, we have no more 'B' stock. Move some 'A' stock in there to replace it. If we all put our minds to it I'm sure that the day after our next office party we can create a few more speakers with flaws, until then keep up the good work."

so you put the M3ti back for rears? How do you like the 7.1?

BB,
I have the 80's paired with dual Hsu Vtf-2s in a stereo set up,music only.

Dumb question but... How do you like the dual Hsu's?
I'm considering dual subs myself.

Thanks,

Tom

If you don't mind mismatchingg the finishes - the Mansfield Beech QS8s have a two week wait, and the Light Maple has a three week wait. It's two and a half months less a wait.

At first I was thinking about 1 larger sub until I talked to Dr. Hsu. He had suggested to get another VFT-2 mk1.I had asked about output compared to the VTF-3 and he said it would be about the same in output but the VTF-3 would still go lower.I also asked Craigsub about it and he had told me the two together stacked in the corner should be able to reach a sold 22hz.So anyway I believe the 2 sounds more even than the one did. When playing something like AC/DC or ZZ top the bass hits you sqaure in the chest,as before with just one the bass was good but not the kick in a$$ kind I am getting with the 2.

The best person to ask about going the dual sub route would be Craigsub.Heck he probably forgot more about it than I even know.

Sorry, I should have explained more fully. The M3ti's are set up as zone 2 on my porch.
