Last night i finally stopped putting it off and ordered M60 VP150 EP350 QS8 in Boston Cherry from Factory outlet. will be here in 2-3 weeks(now that they are on order i cant wait) . i orginally was not going to go FO but over the last month wait times have dropped and i figured might as well save a few bucks since my ht room is about 2 weeks from completion anyway. i will be pushing them with an onkyo txsr-600 for the time being. i also have 2x rows of 3 lazy boy matinee ht chairs. just to give you guys an idea how long ive been waiting to get this set-up i put the deposit on the furniture last january.lol moving into the new house did not go as smooth as originally anticipated but oh well. their on there way now so who cares. i also ordered 100' of axiom cable which is being shipped now. i liked being a member of the communty here now im excited to be a member of the family.

all right, way to go man.. that is the exact set-up(minus the EP350) that i have. i am pushing it with the onkyo 701, so we have VERY similar systems.

i really think you are gonna dig it the most. be sure and give the 60's plenty of breathing room from the back wall, and try and toe them in a little toward the listening position.. i found that it helped tremendously.

enjoy, and be sure and tell us your impressions upon arrival, and pics.. always pics.. pics.. broken record!!

BTW- 2-3 weeks for FO aint bad at all.. i know some have waited 14-16 weeks...

Congrats snakeyes! I have the same speakers and also use an Onkyo receiver (the 702). Sounds great. Look beautiful (and I'm sure your outlet ones will look perfect, too; people usually have to look incredibly close to find a flaw).

I also agree with bigjohn about giving the speakers a good foot from the wall if possible, and toeing them in (doesn't need to be much!). But you'll get to play around and see what works in your room.

And because I'm riding the wave of euphoria still, I'm going to annoy everyone and post my pics again...

i cant help but laugh when i look at your coffee table.

looks like the ingredients for some demented bloody mary. you got a bottle of wine, and empty bottle of tabasco sauce, and a pepper grinder... and along with the napkin dispenser, i can only assume your brooklyn apartment doesnt have a large dining room? J/K

see, thats why we like pics.. not only do we get to see your system, but we get a little slice of your everyday life.

Welcome aboard Jake, if you have half the experience I had with the F.O. you will be 100% happy. I have searched every square inch of all my speakers, and can't find a single blemish. I think the whole F.O. is just a gimmick

Heh. We do have a dining room, believe it or not ... but with the new toys in the living room, we've been having too many dinners in front of movies. Actually have to break that habit before it takes over, I suppose.

What you're seeing are the remnants of a chili dinner which really needed a kick in the pants! Now that you mention it though, I may have to break out the barware and give this new concoction a spin...
Posted By: bigjohn Re: The Order is Complete!!! - 01/21/05 05:07 PM
i have my dinner in front of the TV often also.. well, mainly when my wife aint here.. when she is here, its table time..

chili, hey? i can send you a great 3-dump award winning chili recipe if you like? the 3-dump refers to how many times you add spices, not the effect it has on your body. its a competition chili recipe, so it is HOT. plus, we dont add any fillers to chili. so its just meat and sauce.. no chunks of onions, or tomato, or green peppers. no beans, no rice, no noodles. etc.. just meat and chili.. its damn good.

just doing my part to try and bring a little texas heat to a cold brooklyn morning.

Jake - that is way too exciting. You should have everything before the Super Bowl (a note to Amie might speed that along). Waiting for the pics. After seeing th e"rough-in", the finished product should be exciting.

Joe - you go ahead and post those pics as often as you want. BTW, are you using a universal remote for all that new gear? If not, search here for the MX-700.

BigJohn,

That sounds pretty good to me,I wouldn't mind given that Texas chili a try.

My fiance's a movie nut, so she's actually pretty open to eating by the TV, as long as it isn't too often.

Me? I'm definitely game for some HOT Texas chili (though thanks for the explanation, I was worried at first!). My fiance seems to think chili is something with black beans and served on rice. What she makes is good, but it definitely ain't chili. Send the recipe along! I PM'ed my email addy.
I'll let you know how it goes when we try it. Thanks!

Ummm, maybe it's just me (no sleep again last night) but that doesn't sound to me like you would have them before the Superbowl, and asking Amie to rush it would mean halving the time from the promised delivery time at the time the order was placed.

Or, do I need a nap?

I got a Sony Remote Commander, but I'm less than enthralled with it - it's a two-hander, the screen can be hard to read, and as much as I like the concept, I don't like the LCD in practice. I was looking at the Logitech remotes - Audioholics seems to be in love with them - but I'll look into the MX-700...

Joe, I was using a Sony Remote Commander RM-AV3000 before I switched to the MX-700 (Ray beat me severely about the head and shoulders until I bought one ).

The Sony is a VERY good remote. But, the MX-700 is just so easy to program (once you get the hang of it), so ergonomically comfortable, and so versatile, that I can't believe it. It is the one piece of equipment I own, that I feel comfortable recommending without reservation. The only qualm I have is that the programming, at first, can seem a bit daunting. But once learned, it's a breeze.

Aaaahhh, by "sooner" I thought you just meant a day or two as frequently happens with the F.O. stuff!

Napping now.....

BigJohn,

You might as well just post the "3 Dump Chili" recipe in this thread...now that you've offered it...save you a bunch of emails or PM's...not to mention I'd like to have it as well...

Supposed to be cold(er) here in Texas this weekend...but not as cold as Ray has been touting....

Even with the snow, I could be there in 4 hours.
Posted By: snakeyes Re: The Order is Complete!!! - 01/22/05 03:51 PM
No offense to ray but why would i want to have endure a day of listening to a steelers fan tell me that we gave up to much and did not even get the best qb in the draft. then it will be ben this and ben that. no thanks lol
Posted By: Ray3 Re: The Order is Complete!!! - 01/22/05 04:04 PM
Nah - I'm a team-focused guy. While Ben doesn't look much like a rookie, I think he's a couple of years away from standing out/owning the team. Even then, success only follows team, not individual. His success has really been the Steelers success. They came together and rallied around the kid. He's done his part by not losing games (althought he tried to do that with the Jets).

Had Coughlin been as smart as Cowher and kept it simple from the get-go, Eli would have done lots better. Beginning with the Steelers game, they did just that and Eli played pretty well.
