Hi, this is my first time!!!!and new to all this Tech Stuff.
I presume this is a really stupid question!!!!!!
can I run the Axiom M80TI's on my new Yamaha RXV2500, or would that be a problem...I can only find 6 or 8 ohms in the Auto setup menu....
NEED A LOT OF HELP I KNOW, from all of you out there!!!!

John, welcome(can always use another John on the board). From reports it appears that the Yamaha 1400-2500 series does well with 4ohm speakers, so unless your room and listening level is huge, there should be no problem. The setting should be left at 8ohms rather than 6ohms.

No, John, in the unlikely circumstance that the receiver was getting too hot, it's protective circuitry would shut it down, but this wouldn't happen at any reasonable listening level.

... and, BTW, this is *not* a stupid question.

Very few manufacturers actually specify the degree of 4 ohm support these days (for legal reasons as far as we know, not technical ones) so the only way to find out for sure is to either buy & try or ask other people who might have experience with a particular receiver.

with 4, 6, and 8 ohm speakers. If you are going to conneect 4 ohm
speakers to the A terminals, do not connect anyother speakers to the B
terminals or use the A and B speakers simutaneously. By doing this this
will drop the impedance down below 4 ohms making the speakers connected
to A and B not compatible with the receiver. Thank you! af
