Hi...another noob here. I must admit, this isn't the easiest forum to navigate...but then I'm old too. :-(

I'm trying to locate a willing auditioner on or near the central Oregon Coast. There is one listed, but alas, my efforts to raise the individual have failed...including getting assistance from the webmaster.

I currently own a modest system that includes (cough cough) JBL S312 mains, J350 surrounds, and JBL centers for center front and back (6.1 system) and an Hsu STF-3. Actually the S312's are fine speakers and represent what JBL 'used' to be capable of. But I've heard SO much about the quality of Axioms and the outrageously wonderful Axiom customer service, that I've been wanting to give them a listen...see if it's a step up from what I own. (I also need to verify that my rx will drive the loads.)

Can anyone lend assistance? Your help and advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome Beef, hope you can find someone to help you, the audition of Axioms is what sold me It appears the 4 people listed on the Audition Thread in the "Hearing Things" area are all in the NW corner of Oregon. I'm not to familiar with Oregon and not sure where your located, but according to the Map they look close togethor. It appears that DOUBTINGTHOMAS29 is the only one that frequents this website, you may have to road trip to Hillsboro unless there is someone else that is not on the list and the chime in soon. Hillsboro appears to be right on the coast, as you requested, unless your way south?

Alright! Another prospective member of the "Silver Posse!" Stick around Beef. We old guys need all the help we can get handling the whippersnappers on the forum. You know how kids are.

Hope DoubtingThomas comes through for you, and that he is near enough to make a trip worthwhile.

Let me know if you'd like to head-up to Hillsboro for a listen. If you have any DVD-A's, let me know because I'm not set-up for 5.1 analog yet (and it gives me an excuse to buy the cables).

Thanks DT29!

We get up that way every few months. I'll keep your reply tucked away. It would be great to get to hear these gems. And I think I DO have a DVD-A or two. ;-))

As a long time JBL speaker owner....(89' 3800's), I REALLY had to look around for a long time to find a speaker that was a "step up" in a relative price range, and configuration.

To make a long story short......I have had my Axiom M60's for about a year and a half now, and they ARE that step up.
JBL USA DID make a good speaker, back in the day.
