I just got the ht 80-ep350 set up. this is my first time ever using a sub with my reciever. I hooked up all the speakers have the qs8's also and vp150. Have the rca jack from the denon sw pre out going to the ep350. But the only time the sub ever works is when the right surround is working. changed all my settings all over the place trying to get it to work but just can't get it. If i do the test tones the sub won't make any noise except when the right surrounds go off. Won't ever just work on its own.
I moved all my speakers to small thinking that could help but nothing. Rebooted the reciever and started all over again but still nothing. Have you guys ever head of any of this? OR have any clue what to do? And what the best settings would be for that sub with those 80's. Or any other advice you can give me. Never had any decent speakers before.

Triple check that you connected the sub to the correct pre-out. I've miscabled before...

I would agree with double checking the pre-out for the Sub, I also own the 3805 and the surround pre-out is right next to the sub pre-out. Also check in your setup that the sub is set to LFE in the speaker setup as well as setting it up in the input setup. Only other thing I can think of is setting the crossover on the receiver at 80hz and making sure your RCA from the receiver is going to the line in on your ep350. Hope this helps.

Do you have the sub hooked to the "Sub Woofer" RED jack in the pre-out section, it would be a single (one) coax cable from this jack to the input on the sub.

ok you guys got me. I was a retard earlier. lol. I had it in the damn surround. I even moved it from there a couple of times. It works now. I was worried that something was wrong with the damn reciever. Appreciate the help though. Now i just have to learn where the hell to put everything so it is righ tnow.

I owned a 350 once with my 2805. I would recommend you start by placing the sub volume knob around the 11-12 o'clock position. Turn the crossover knob fully clockwise. Then, in the receiver speaker setup menu, place all speakers to small and in the crossover menu use 80hz. Your setup mic on the Denon will most likely set your mains and center to large, change them to small. good luck.

Glad you got it fixed, let us know what you think once everything is setup.

Panhead:
Don't sweat it....we've all be there before! With all the jacks and their close-spacing it's easy to make a mistake!

LOL! Do you think that none of us have ever done something like that? I've been working with audio equipment, plugging/unplugging/replugging, for more than 30 years. I just had to reconnect everything to my processor. When I started to calibrate I discovered I had the mains and surrounds crossed. When something like this happens, the first question I ask is "well, where did you screw up this time, genius." When faced with a problem, I automatically assume pilot error. 95% of the time, I'm right.

The good side of this is that it is considerably easier on the heart. Though there may be a problem, by assuming it's my fault, and is thus correctable, I prevent the panic and angst which accompanies assuming there is a serious problem with a piece of equipment.

I'm so glad you easily resolved your problem.

ya i am pretty glad i got it going myself. Now just all the knowhow or trying to figure out all the calibrations. They don't sound to bad though. NOw that i did hook up a sub i almost wish i would of gotten a bigger badder one. lol. Makes the movies sound way better with that deeper bass.
