Hi: I'm thinking about trying Blue Jean speaker wire anyone try their wire and/or interconnects? What is your opinion of them as a company? Thanks

I just bought some 10 gauge speaker cable from them this week. I ordered on Tuesday and had the in my hands on Thursday. I chose them this time because I was looking for cables with one end terminated and the other bare wire. The banana connectors are adequate, but I prefer Cobalt Cable as the quality seems a bit better. I have also used Impact Acoustics as well. I would order from any of the three companies again. Just my 2 cents.

I've bought cables and wire from them. Excellent service and well made products.

Their 12 guage belden 8000 (I think) greyjacket is some very nice stuff!

I ordered about 200ft from them, they have really good pricing too.

For my interconnects (banana plugs), and video cables I went with monoprice, their banana plugs (the sauder (sp?) type) work very well for screw-in wire. they are VERY cheap too, like $2 for a pair or something.

Blue Jeans has EXCELLENT cables. I've bought optical (though it may be cheaper at monoprice for similar quality), 2 channel RCA, 5 ch RCA, and component from them. Fantastic quality and very reasonably priced. Just be aware that some of their cables built from coax are VERY stiff so if you need cables w/ tight bends, pick the right kind of coax. Also, their Canare connectors are pretty long so you'll have to account for that length at the back of your AV rack. I had to remove the back of my Salamander to accomodate the RCA connectors and stiff cable.

I've bought quite a bit from them. High quality cables at a good price... Check out MonoPrice as well.

Thanks for the feedback so far,the cable I'm planning on ordering is the Canare 4S11 to bi-wire my current speakers or new one's(I'm wearing flame resistant clothes so flame away about bi-wiring speakers, LOL)thanks again for the help.

Why would we flame you? Bi-wiring with that cable will give you an improvement of 0.014dB. Not to mention an improvement in your damping factor of 0.25 units. Money well spent? You be the judge .

Bruce, Mo may have misplaced a zero, since my calculation indicates that the improvement from bi-wiring(aka "buy-wiring")is 0.0014dB.

More seriously, Blue Jeans is a very reputable no-nonsense outfit, remarkably so for a cable supplier. Their prices are a little higher on some items, but certainly aren't outrageous. The wire that you're considering is thicker and stiffer than necessary except for very long runs, but of course it does the required job.

Did you multiply the logarithm by 10?

Hey, I bought my share of Monster cables before I read anything. We can be the Armageddon twins.
Posted By: JohnK Re: Anyone try Blue Jeans Cables? - 09/01/07 03:03 AM
Well, as to wire to hook-up speakers, the most cost-effective move, considering shipping charges, is to deal with a local hardware or electrical supplier of the Home Depot type, which I use when I need some lampcord. For good info on wiring speakers from a veteran audio professional you might study this .

For interconnects, MonoPrice can't be beat for cables that do the job as well as anything and at very reasonable prices.

Ha ha. Okay, we can still be "twins," but one of us is Arnold, and the other one is Danny.

Bruce, yes your buy was even beyond Monsterous, but at least you didn't go with an outfit like NBS .

Stereoguy99,

I suspect the Blue Jeans Cables will be fine.......after all, they are about the only brand approved of here.

JohnK,

I'm glad to finally see you admit that bi-wiring, DOES make an improvement!

Good lord that ridiculous. Do you get free speakers and audio components w/ that? You'd think for those prices they'd actually have pictures of the cables...
Posted By: JohnK Re: Anyone try Blue Jeans Cables? - 09/01/07 04:45 AM
Yes, Cesar, but we have to realize that Mr. Fields has a "vision" as to "how the signal should travel" and since he apparently is unique in the world with such "vision", he believes that he should be adequately compensated. As to pictures, apparently he believes that they're unnecessary, since you're going to be listening to them, not watching them.

I don't know where to start with critiquing this guys. I really wish you wouldn't post stuff like this because it really makes my blood boil.

I'm using sorice products-3 b-mpc's for components and lp's, and b-150's and 300's for cd and dvd storage. At first glance they seem a little expensive, but compared to the alternatives- they're not bad. They are quite slow to ship as they build each order when it's recieved, but if you call them the CS is quite Axiom-like.

stereoguy,

Monoprice and Bluejeans both ship USPS to Canada (for the lowest brokerage fees and duties).

My last 2 shipments from Monoprice didn't even have duty charges on them.

I buy ALL my cables from Blue Jeans. Nice heavy duty quality stuff. Superb customer service. Quick shipping. They'll even custom make a cable for you if need be. They're just the best.
